“More interesting than you think”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

You might think this will be boring, but it's not! Aside from having the world's largest model of a city, the hall is filled with interesting information about old Shanghai, the preservation and restoration of buildings and neighborhoods, and how it has grown in the past 20 years (plus plans for the future). It's really a great place to learn about Shanghai - past, present and future.

“Very Interesting.”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

There is a fantastic massive model of Shanghai here as well as other exhibitions. You will receive an education in the urban planning and history of Shanghai. The place itself is not too large, so museum fatigue will be avoided. A plus for me!

“Very interesting museum.”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

The highlight is a "mini Shanghai". Also there are lots of historical pictures showing the now modern city way back in the beginning of the century. There are other historical parts to the exhibit but the Mini Shanghai and mini airports are quite interesting.

“How cool is a miniature scale model of Shanghai?”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

turns out, it's pretty cool. The model has ever building carefully modeled to scale. The buildings are easily recognizable...although my hotel was outside the range of the model. There is a similar model for Beijing which is bigger and grander because it's in the capital.

But this museum has a few other things too. Don't miss the 360-degree video of what they have planned for Shanghai
