the best things about the hotel first:
- this hotel was brandnew when i stayed there in 2011, so the furnishings are up-to-date, fresh and everything is spotlessly clean.
- the room sizes are very generous, lots of space, big bathrooms too.
- the furnishings of the rooms are of high quality and the interior has a nicely done modern elegant design - it is however a bit the typical "neutral" hotelroom-design thats eversame in china.
- usually the rooms are offered for a hefty discount (-40%) from the official rack-rate, so they are starting from around 90 Eur - 140 Eur.- that is really good value

So, why not rate it excellent than:
- found that taxi-drivers generally dont know about the hotel (it just opened of course so thats somewhat understandable), and the address is hard to find for them. i used to end up calling the hotel to give the taxi-driver directions.
Its also a bit of a wait to get a taxi there if you want to go from the hotel. So accessability is inconvenient.if you need to get around quickly
- the location generally. it looked good on google-maps, just a few hundred meters from the Bund, but In reality this place is a pretty dull corner of Shanghai, and its a bit "out there".
- the rooms i stayed was really quite dimmed, if you need good light-conditions for working, or you generally prefer places that can be flooded with sunlight through big windows, the rooms in the Pravo Hotel probably are too dark for you.

the service-staff is fluent in english and does it good job.
Cant comment on the food, as i didnot have any at the hotel

if you dont mind the location-issues, and nicely designed spacious rooms for a good price is what you look for - than the Hotel Pravo is a very interessting option.

Moved here after a poor experience at another hotel in Shanghai on a business trip. Clean, spacious, staff friendly, helpful, good English. Rooms very spacious and modern. A bit too 'high tech' as 4-6 buttons to press in each of fhe bedrooms, bathroom and lounge area which was not necessary! Restaurant food very good. Stay here and get a taxi to the Bund area for no extra cost.

Room Tip: Recommended. Just allow 20 minutes to get to the Bund area if that's where you need to be. Good value, clean, helpful staff and well- managed.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in June 2012, in fact I'm writing this review from the desk in my room. This hotel is EXCELLENT, however the location is quite uninteresting.

The hotel itself has a quiet, boutique feeling. The lobby is simple but modern with a piano bar between reception and the elevators. English was not a problem at check in and the hotel management speaks English quite well.

The big surprise was the room. I had booked the room via Agoda at a fantastic price (every other service was 30+% higher). Having booked in the lowest-price room category, I was worried I'd have to upgrade but any worries were quickly put aside when I was escorted to my room (yes, one of the hotel staff escorted me to my room).

The room is VERY nice. It's a two-area suite with the living room separated from the bedroom by a wall that houses a TV on the LR side and another large flat panel TV and built-in dresser on the other side. There was a small bowl of fruit (complementary) on the table and a hot-pot with complementary coffee/tea fixings on a large bar/banquet. The two-tiered shelf system in the foyer gets your luggage out of the way. Two bay windows brought in lots of light, or with a push of a button the curtains closed for privacy. The view from my rear-facing room was nothing special, the other side of the hotel faced the street (WuSong Road is busy, but not packed with traffic). I'm always worried about street noise in busy cities, but my 9th floor room was very quiet.

I could not be more pleased with the hotel, my room or the staff. Even the bath tub (separate shower/bath) was nice enough to entice me to have a bath (I'm a shower guy), the bathroom was "that" nice.

I do have a few quibbles... The lighting in the room was a bit "moody" in two ways. First, it was just a bit dark. Several times I found myself looking for another light to turn on. Opening the curtains during the day was an easy fix. Second, the lights would just turn themselves off occasionally. For no reason that I could figure. "Click". Darkness. Strange. The AC was similarly moody. It seemed that I'd set the AC lower and the temperature didn't change much. I was never uncomfortable, but I would have liked the room to be a few degrees cooler. Lastly, there's not much going on in this area. There was plenty of small local food shops along the streets in back of the hotel, but no restaurants of any real interest that I found walking around. It seems to be a local business/residential neighborhood. If you're looking for "location", be advised you'll be taking a taxi from here. It's about a 1KM walk to the Bund from the hotel.

Overall I was very pleased with my stay at Hotel Pravo and would definitely stay here again.

Spent 5 nights and agree with most other reviews. Lovely new amenities, staff try hard, location is a long walk from Bund and other attractions. Front desk has no tour desk so you need to find your own tours and tourist information. Seems like a simple thing to add in the foyer - a stand with current travel brochures. Breakfast good with a mixture for all tastes. Subway good once you get to one. Shanghai had lots of interesting attractions.

The room was very nice, with a separate living room. The furniture was designer modern and it was like a showroom.

Location was the single bad thing but affected the stay completely. As the other reviews stated, cab drivers are not familiar with this hotel. It's inconvenient regradless of any mode of transport. A cab driver called the receptionist as we were checking in to ask for directions. The lady told the can driver to drop the guest on the opposite side of the road and ask the guest to cross the road. We soon found out why ourselves. The taxi could not make a U-turn if it were coming from Pudong. If the taxi dropped you on the other side of the road, it's another 10 min walk to the nearest pedestrain crossing to cross the road to get to the hotel.

There isn't any trains stations nearby. The bund is near enough, about 15 min walk.

I'd love the hotel if it was much more convenient. Perhaps have a bicycle rental service or a shuttle service?
