“Mr Run... Shanghai guide”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

Odyssey Tours organised a young man who went by the name of Run. His Chinese name is Ren.
He looked after us (3 old couples from Oz) as if we were the most important people in the world.
Run's knowledge of the city and the best "off the beaten track" places was a lovely addition to the organised itinerary. If you touring Shanghai / Suzhou as we did, he's your man!

“Very entertaining, picturesque museum”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

Museum located in the basement of Pearl Tower. Entry fee just 35rmb for adults. And usually no queues as for the visit of the tower. You walk your way through historic streets of old Shanghai from its foundations through concession times to revolution. See old street cars and busses, watch scenes of daily life in shops, workshops, huts, opium taverns and elegant ballrooms. You really feel placed in the different periods of Shanghai life. It is a stroll through the history of a city. Wear good walking shoes! Children love that museum. Use the street benches for rest.

“Highly recommended”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

A magnificent experience. Take a walk through life-size dioramas with waxwork figures, holograms and small city streets and go back in time to experience Shanghai through the Colonial invasion and the subsequent concessions until the city was eventually returned to the Chinese in the late 1940s. At 35¥ it's great value (children are half price but no discounts for seniors).
