I reviewed a lot on tripadvisor before visiting it, as found it a bit expensive. But we (me and my daughter, btw who is 10, but she is taller than 1.4m so she had to take adult ticket) never been in aquariums before, so we decided to take a chance.

overall expenses: RMB 377
two adult tickets: RMB 320
some snacks after the show: RMB 45
metro: RMB 12

its really within a walking distance from the metrostation, so it wasn't that torturing for us, considering the weather, +35, humid and humid.

everything inside was cool, only few points to mention, which was bit disturbing or just little bit on a negative side:
- very less explanations in english, which forces you to guess only who is who and why that fish is in that aquarium, but not in some other;
- it happened that way or its always like that, but there were all the time some screaming or shouting or crying kids on a extreme high volume, which made me feel to finish everything a little faster;
- somehow i felt really sorry and poor for penguins. people surrounded their aquarium and 'forcing' them to either come out or jump in the water. maybe its really fine with them but i just imagined how it would be listening and watching this mad crowd day to day...

i guess its all, overall, i liked the experience, but definitely it could be cheaper, as they didn't have any show or some kind of performance.

After going to Atlanta, I had doubts about here.. But it was still a good pick! A bit pricey as if your children are over 1.4 meters you have to pay adult price regards of actually ages, of course that was five adult tickets and they were sold out of the special tickets were would include the Science and Technology center as well. Best part was the tunnels, alot them and the darken area with the jellyfish. Reminder once you go to the tunnels you can't go back to see things again. The tunnels are the longest in Asia and had a good mix of different fish including lots of stingrays and sharks and the posting times they feed are very handy! One of the funny arts to me was at the Penguins area and they had a TV playing Happy Feet movie, the irony of 'enclosed area' and from the movie rang true.. They were sort of lifeless, the sea otters were cool and playful.. Note that alot of the areas are fairly open so if you have children you may want to keep a watch out for hands or fingers missing..

It located near the Pearl Tower in Lujiazui, easy to find. It was really big and quite cool. I've been to some other ocean aquarium in other places too, but this must be one of the best. Really love the area with the moving belt where we can just stand and enjoy the view. Worth to visit once.

Very well organized underwater acquarium worth visitng. It is in Shanghai city center with many other attractions around. The underwater tube is lengthier than that of Singapore acquarium. Every tourister coming to Shanghai shoud visit the Ocean acquarium. However, the Singapore acquarium seems to be more attractive.

We stopped into the aquarium on a Saturday afternoon. The ticket was about 20 USD. We were expecting a huge tank, which this does not have. Rather, It is madr up of probably 100 smaller exhibits. Due to the large crowds, it was less enjoyable. The jelly fish exhibits were the most interesting. We weren't able to get close enough to see the penguins. Try to go on a weekday
