The Aquarium is a great way to see various marine life. You will find various sharks, penguins, hug crabs, jelly fish, seals, sea horses, hug turtles, crocodiles and loads of different types of fish. They have a number of tunnels that you can walk through which give you a great view of the sharks, turtles and sting rays- you might even see a member of staff taking a dive! The only down side is that some of the tanks are too small I.e. the penguins, seals & crocodiles need a lot more space then they were given & I also saw a very sad & lonely eel that was too big for the tank! It is easy to get to- take the Metro Line 2 to Lujiazui & then follow the sign posts. It's open daily from 9-6pm & costs 160 per person.

A rainy morning in Shanghai at the Ocean Aquarium was a great morning! My wife and I visited the aquarium for a rainy morning and had a great time. There was not a big crowd as maybe because it is winter but that was very nice for us. We enjoyed all the different exhibits. Some of the fish are not well as is visible by fin damage and deterioration but they seem to be well fed and I believe the staff is serious about their care. We bought some things from the gift shop and it was a nice morning experience! I recommend this location as part of your trip in Shanghai!

This is an excellent way to spend a couple of hours and is well worth the 160 RMB entry. It has a lot of different creatures and has excellent tanks and tunnels. The sharks, turtles, seals and rays are great. They have different zones and the jellyfish exhibit was fabulous.

It is one of the best aquariums I have been too. It is rather large and has many animals / fishes. We were rather impressed. The one in London is very good but the one in Shanghai is even better.
