Neighborhood: Former French Concession
Description: Favourite Shanghai watering hole of anyone with the slightest drop of Celtic blood, and those not so blessed, the Blarney Stone has become the Irish Bar in Shanghai. Authentically Irish, the low ceilings, wood floor and wood panelling make it cozy and friendly, the greatest feature of the pub is undoubtedly the live band that sings Irish and Scottish folk songs every other night.

Having been going to Shanghai for over 13 years and been a regular at O Malleys that shut down recently we had to find another and this was a short walk from where O Malleys was.
It's quite good with the street seating with good Guinness and Caelsberg on draft
Food is your usual Irish expat fare but hot and served quickly
I would reccomend it and I'm sure it will get busier as more discover it - good for live session music

Good expats / Irish bar on a busy road for bars and restaurants. A little pricey (60 RMB for Carlsberg or a house wine) but come at happy hour and you get them half price.

First time visiting the Blarney Stone in its new home. I find its missing some of its former charm. That being said the new premises looks well.
The staff were very disinterested and spent most of the tie lounging at the end of the bar on their smart phones. 60 RMB for a Kilkenny is pricey but it was a good pint. The bar is clean. WiFi is free. It is worth a visit as a bar but its a little unfair to expect the same as the old bar seeing as its in a new location under new management.
