“Good chinese food, reasonably priced.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

We were looking for a place to eat at XinTianDi, and found WU TONG JU (梧桐居), which served some pretty good chinese food. We had about 7 dishes, and it was about 135 yuan per person, which was reasonable. The food portions were reasonable, and tasty. Service was friendly and prompt. Overall, a good place to try if you want to try good chinese food at XinTianDi.

“Nice spot for al fresco dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Xintiandi has been beautifully restored and is a lovely environment to eat some lunch or hang out. The old buildings have been sympathetically treated and the dining options are plentiful. Well worth visiting and grabbing a bite to eat at.

“Shanghai's Faneuil Hall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

Preserved buildings now house shops and restaurants. Husband's family took us here for lunch on Sunday. Great place to grab a bite to eat and stroll around. A block away from one of Shanghai's up and coming luxury shopping areas. Nice break from the craziness of the city.

“A nice place for Brunch on a sunday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

A nice place for Brunch on a sunday where you can get traditional ...... egg and bacon, eggs benedict, etc, etc when you need a break from the local fare. It is old style architecture with a modern touch. Highly recommended.

“Despite the fake Chinese-ness, it is a relaxing pretty spot”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

Agreed with previous reviewer- Xintiandi is definitely not China, but it is a pretty area where you can find a bunch of restaurants and cafes, in little Chinese 'Shukumen' style houses. The area is cute, quite European and perfect for a relaxing afternoon (better weekday since it fills up on the weekends) It is one block away from HwaiHai Zhong Lu which is the luxury street of Shanghai so ladies can rest their tired shopping feet over a cup of hot coffee. I walked around the city with a stroller (baby inside) so sitting down for a break is also valuable for me, Xintiandi provided exactly that.
