“always an historic walk”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

Although gentrified like most of Shanghai...a fun stroll with amazing views, Best to head down some side alleys to get off the beaten path--if that is possible? A must visit...it is the Wai Ttan after all!

“Frankly, one of the must see and do things in the world of travel”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

Its no secret that the world is moving to Asia. This is a one of those places that you have physically go to and walk through to qualify as a world traveller; like walking around the Sydney Opera House while looking at the Sydney Harbour Bridge; looking at Buckingham palace or the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramids, driving over the Golden Gate bridge, or climbing through the temple at Borobudur in Indonesia.

Its particularly beautiful at night, but also well worth a stroll during the day. Gee, the world has changed in my lifetime, China used to be an absolute hole in the ground just 30 years ago, now look at it.

“Just a walk”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

It was very nice to stroll along the Bund next to the river, it was a nice clear day and the temperature was just right. A lot of people as you would expect, but still plenty of room to take photos etc.

A good place to see the both the skyline of the Bund and the other side of the river with all the skyscrapers.

“Go at night”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

We went both day and night. At night, we strolled down Nanking Street where many people were singing and dancing. At the end of the street was the Bund where you could look across the river to the beautiful and colorfully lit tall buildings. Don't miss a look inside the lobby of the Peace Hotel.
