Great place to relax on a Sunday afternoon and soak up the chinese culture which is evident all around including children flying kites on the lawn, ballroom dancing couples and open-air Mahjong games!

Fuxing Park hasa lot of diversity including a water fall, trellis awnings and small pond. The flower beds looked stunning although they were way past peak blooming. I imagine they were stunning a month or so ago. Most delightful are the adults out playfully enjoying the scenery. Not a big tourist attraction, seeing locals make it more interesting.

Fuxing park is located in the center of the city, famous place for local young guys. During the day time, it's a nice park like every park else. Well, but if you go there in the night, you'll see a different world. Karaoke, clubs, pretty girls... good place for night life.

However, it's more like shanghai people's real life, not really for the tourists. So you not gonna see some chinese style architectures, or distinctive interior design...

Fuxing Park (Xujiahui Park) covers an area of 86,600 sq meters and is bordered by Hengshan, Tianping, Zhaojiabang, and Wanping Roads. There are 5 main entrances. This is a relatively new park built in 2000. The park now resides on the sites of what was an old rubber factory, branch of a record company, and surrounding buildings and residential neighborhoods. The park has water features, basketball courts, children playground, and various art sculptures throughout. It's a calming place in the craziness of Shanghai. Many locals gather here and can be seen cuddling up, lazing on the lawn, feeding pond fishes, or just casually strolling about. A very nice place to gather your thoughts and relax.

Very nice park, centrally located in French concession, not far from busy shopping sites
Depending of the time of day different activities by locals (singing, dance, tai chi, kites, acrobatics, water painting, ...)
Also the park is cooler on ver hot days
Get your own drins and food is you want to linger a while
