Owner description: The riverside walk along the Bund may be busy and crowded during the day, but with good reason - it's simply a must when in Shanghai for people-watching and getting a good feel for the city.

It was simply the best option for us to get back to Ferry on the way back to our Hotel after dinner in Superbrand Mall.

People love to see citysrapes and this one doesn't disappoint. Walking down here is as impressive as Hong kong's City view.

We walked the promenade. It is really nice and you can stop at restaurants or coffee shops. It was a heavy smog day so we couldn't see much but it made for good people watching and seeing a little of Shanghai.

Many reviewers seem to have confused this promenade with the other promenade on the Bund.

As the flag on the map shows this promenade is on the opposite side of the river from the Bund.

This is a promenade on the opposite side of the river from the Bund and is by far less impressive than the Bund itself. However, the lights of Shanghai do look nice after dark even from this promenade.

We walked down the Bund to the Shanghai Ferry Terminal and took the 2 Yuan ferry down river and across to the other side from the Bund. It runs every 15 minutes. It took 10 minutes. You then have to walk about 15 minutes along a quiet road until you reach the promenade. We stooped and had a coffee in a Starbucks and sat outside with great views of the Bund and the barges and ships going up the river.

Rather than return to the ferry we took the Sightseeing Tunnel back to the Bund. Not worth 50 Yuan but it meant we did not have to double back

I went there the first night I arrived to Shanghai. The city were calm and peaceful and it was so nice to walk around the river and watch all shanghai night lights :)
