Owner description: The riverside walk along the Bund may be busy and crowded during the day, but with good reason - it's simply a must when in Shanghai for people-watching and getting a good feel for the city.

The path and walkway were recently updated, there is a large gathering area to walk, but depending on the day, it may be very crowded and walking is more like inching. Lots of great photo ops. If you are a foreigner, be prepared to be asked to be in someone's photo. It happened to me a lot because I was a blond. Be patient, they may want to take turns with you if the person is in a group. Take it in stride and be good-hearted about it, but keeping an eye on your personal belongings is still always a good idea. Very pretty at night too as the lights give it a whole new look from the day.

A very fascinating area of town with some great people watching opportunities and amazing views of The Bund and Pudong.

The most fun aspect is all of the photo shoots happening around various spots. Very touristy and crowded, especially on the weekends. Must do during the day and night.

Very neat place to walk around and take pictures. Lots of boats passing through the harbor so it's a good place to go at night to see them all lit up. Not quite the same as the promenade along Hong Kong harbor, but then no place is.

We went here on a Saturday night. Too bad it was drizzling a bit. Nonetheless, the promenade provided good views of the Bund on the opposite side. Our Chinese friend said it's a place where couples usually go on a date, and I must agree, it's quite a romantic location.

It's one of the nicest man made landscapes in Shanghai. You can walk, sit, take pictures on bothsides of the river and there are still things todo, it's worth to go go there several times
