“Good grief”
Reviewed October 3, 2010

This hotel could have a lot going for it.
It’s halfway between Terminal one and Two, with walkways to get to each terminal, so no shuttle required to get to and from the hotel. It is above a central plaza, where there are fast food outlets and a convenience store. It is from here that the Metro/Subway trains and Maglev train arrive and depart.
I had booked a day room at another airport hotel, but when I got there after waiting for an hour for their shuttle to collect me, I was told that they had been full the night before and didn’t have any rooms ready for me and couldn’t tell me how long it would be. So, the shuttle was going back to the airport, so I decided to go and try this hotel. Whilst, it looks new on the outside, sadly it is very dated on the inside. Even with a staff of 10 behind the front desk, it seemed to take for ever for them to find me a room and check me in.
The furniture in the room was very odd and it had a round bed. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. I had booked the room for 6 hours after a couple of long flights with a couple more to go, I decide to pull the curtains and have a sleep. However, what a surprise when I sat on the bed, it was as hard as the floor. I tried to settle down, but it took quite awhile to drift off to sleep, even though I was very tired. I did sleep for a couple of hours and then got up and took a cold shower. Yes, a cold shower, even letting the water run for 15 minutes on the full on hot position, the water was still cold.
This hotel is just shame, as it could have so much going for it!

This hotel is located outside of the main terminals at PVG. A colleague and I were put up here after missing our connection. We were there on a Saturday and it was extremely quiet - almost like a morgue. The room is just different - it was very, very clean. The bathroom was stocked with anything you might have forgotten and the water pressure was good. The towels were so so. What was interesting is the round bed with the mirrors overhead and the spotlights pointed to one's privates - it was sort of porn-esque. The bed was also very hard. The breakfast buffet was included but please be warned, this is a Chinese breakfast buffet. While there was orange juice and coffee, there were no eggs or meats or cheeses or fresh fruit. The fried poultry feet were a little hard to take early in the morning. If you are stuck and need a place to sleep, the hotel is fine. If you want to take the maglev into Shanghai, it is great because the station is a five minute walk. Note though that there is nothing going on at the hotel - the bar was empty and after 9 pm, the restaurant is closed and the front desk staff speaks very, very limited English. Nothing else is open at the airport either.

If you are Japanese with non English/Chinese speaker, this hotel is really nice place to be! You can find Japanese food with reasonable price, also be able to find some Japanese magazine or food, drinks at their shop. Most of the stuff are able to speak in Japanese also. Price is reasonable, clean. One thing bad is bathroom is not roomy (yet you can take bath). Their massage is one of the best I ever had.

One thing need to be careful is, since location is very close to the airport, taxi driver will not give you a ride. Hotel provide micro bus service so you need to book yourself with their micro bus service.
