This is a great part of Shanghai to stay. Away from the wonderfully crazy part of the city amongst leafy green streets lies this 5* oasis. There are quite a few good eating places and bars nearby and to get to the Bund is only 20-30 RMB.

Room Tip: Try and get a garden room. The executive level is very pleasant too.

I've stayed at this hotel on two trips to China, and will stay there again when I go next. The staff are helpful and friendly, the hotel is beautiful and the grounds (gardens) provide a nice escape from the chaos of Shanghai.

The Club Floors are well worth paying the upgrade at check-in.

It isnt in the middle of the city, but is an easy train ride in for RMB3 or about RMB30-40 in a cab depending on the traffic.

We had dinner in their Chinese Restaurant at it was superb!

Room Tip: If you can pay the upgrade fee on checkin (sometimes only RMB400 a night) to upgrade to a Club Room...

Wasn’t supposed to stay at this hotel but due to a last minute change of plan I did and it turned out well. It is in a quiet location in large grounds.

The room I had was good, it had all the facilities you’d expect, effective air con and an iron & ironing board in the wardrobe. The bed was comfy and there was a choice of pillows. The bathroom was lovely, Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries which smelt gorgeous and a double headed shower. The café was being refurbished so breakfast was relocated to the Aubergine restaurant and was excellent. The food was to a high standard and the service was good.

From the location of the hotel in a large gated garden setting, away from traffic noise, to the doorman who greets me with a "welcome back" every time I stay, this hotel is one of my favorite things about regular visits to Shanghai. Well appointed, clean, great amenities and staff

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter

I stayed in this hotel as part of a big group. The staff were all friendly and spoke excellent English. When I arrived at the hotel I was able to check into my room straight away, even though this was earlier than their usual check-in time - handy after a long flight from London - although due to the size of the group those on later flights were not so lucky.

The hotel itself is set in stunning grounds which couldn't be more different to the rest of Shanghai. From this point-of-view the location was great, however some of the main attractions like The Bund were a good taxi ride away - although with Taxis so cheap this didn't really matter - just make sure the concierge notes down your destination in Chinese (and that you've got the hotel's address in Chinese so you can get back again!).

The rooms were well furnished and well equipped, the hotel had a choice of bars (which closed relatively early) and breakfast was always good.

We met the English manager on a couple of occasions - he was keen to make sure that our stay was enjoyable - nothing seemed too much trouble. Overall a very good Shanghai hotel that I'd definitely recommend.

Great location of the Hotel. Not too far from busy parts of Shanghai but close enough to discover the town, locatet in a park surrounding. Excellent service and very friendly helpfull staff with good English. Being longtime stay's used in Shanghai I recommend the Hotel to everyone who need's also his time out from busy city life and like higher level of comfort and service. Very good gym and pool and other services inside for convinient short time stays. Price and Service fit together very well.

I was only here for two Nights so overall it was pleasent stay, however if i had to stay longer i properly would chose something closer to the center of the city.
The opening hours of the Restaurant and the Bar where an issue for me, as they where closed way before the stated time of closure so if you get there late good luck in finding a place wind down at the end of the day and have a drink.
The Foot Massage was an experience to forget, not what you would expect from a five star Hotel.
The staff are very Friendly and helpfull and speak good English.
The place is very luxurious and immaculate so overall was a pleasant stay.
