I will try to keep this brief as I could write a book.
My accomodation was pre-paid but at check in having flown 24 hours I was not paying attention. They took a payment of £250 from bank account despite the room being pre-paid. Worse of all I still have not had the money back and checked out some 10-12 days ago. The attitude is shocking and they simply are not bothered.
Further hotel should not be open for business. The lobby is under serious renovation, is totally closed off and smells and sounds like a dusty buliding site. There is no area to sit and have a coffee, meet people, wait for a taxi etc. The noise is horrendous from 7am until around 8pm every day including weekends.
They are also renovating the 4th floor directly below the 5th where the majority of guests are staying. Again the noise is horrendous.
The breakfast is on makeshift trestle tables in a room that is like an airport hangar. No appeal at all.
The staff are extremely unhelpful. I asked for a taxi around 7.30pm on a Friday evening. Not posible - I had to walk the streets and hail one. Made worse by the fact this hotel is in the middle of the business district so not exactly thriving. Like being in the City of London on a Saturday - nothing happening.
I had enquired about wireless prior to arriving or booking and was advised there was wireless in the lobby and business centre - there is not.
In summary this hotel should not be open for business due to the renovation alone. However the whole experience was an absolute shocker. I travel overseas every week of the year and this was by a long distance the worst experience I have had.
I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
