Big, comfortable, luxorius and clean rooms with a huge bathroom. Beds are very comfortable. safe in room. Excellent breakfast buffet with wide variety of dishes to choose from. Did not use the gym but i is suppose to be good. I can really recommend this hotel.

we stayed there for 5 night recently. The room is nicely done and location is perfect. But there's no internet connection and I was told if I want to use the computer at their business center, it's 3RMB per minute and minimum 30RMB to start! This is the only hotel that I have stayed without internet connection. The swimming pool is very small and not well maintained. We paid for about 120SGD per night and there's no breakfast.

Room Tip: stay at the old Jin jiang hotel. It's more historic and quieter

We stayed in a recently updated Cathay building classic room and thought it was great. The hotel has a ton of historic charm, but the rooms are modern and comfortable. The hotel is in the beautiful French Concession, which we thought was a lot more fun to walk around and explore than the Bund and tourist areas downtown. Overall the hotel was a great value, and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone.

This is a very good hotel with excellent friendly staff who try to meet all your needs. It is an elegant lobby with grand piano and talented ladies playing in the afternoon and evening. Our room was spacious with a super shower and separate soaker tub and lots of hot water and body wash and other lotions for all your requirements. Sheets were very fine quality and bed was somewhat firm as are most beds in Chinese hotels but we put the duvet under the bottom sheet for a little extra comfort and it was fine. Our room looked out over the courtyard and the hotel building itself was well situated for walking to shopping or nearby restaurants. We would definitely go back to this property again when in Shanghai.

I'm currently staying at this supposed 5 star hotel, it must be rated on some Chinese system because it's not a patch on any of the western hotels I have stayed at in Shanghai. My room temperature is 26 degrees (it's winter), changing the aircon controls make no difference and the management's solution is come to my room, turn the air con off and tell me to open the windows. I've done this but it is on a busy street and I imagine I'll be awake all night due to traffic and other street noise, every second car going past seems to feel the need to sound their horn. I'm not staying here by choice, my friend is having a wedding here but I can tell you it's definitely the last time they will see me at this establishment. There is something about Chinese brand hotels, they may look flashy but they lack something when it comes to customer service and basic comforts. My recommendation is the Renaissance Yue Garden (by Marriott), it's much better than this and probably cheaper too.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

I was with an escorted tour of China, and was very pleased with this 5 star hotel. It is located near shops and restaurants, has beautiful grounds and 3 large buildings. I had a king room with a terriffic bathroom. It had a large separate tub, glass enclosed shower, all the amenities I needed or wanted, and cable t.v. with many English channels. The buffet breakfast was superb. American, Chinese and Japanese choices, and plenty of them. Lovely dining area for a start to the day. Rooms are very clean, quiet and well maintained. Lobby bar and smoking and non-smokings areas. Enjoyed 3 nights there.

Really not a 5 star hotel! Don't go there you really can get better in Shaghai! 5 Star is not only a drawing in the lobby. You must have elements proving you it's a real 5 Star hotel. And thi sis not the case here!
Only one person at the reception desk at 7.30 PM on Friday evening! 20 minutes to queue before being able to start registration (which last 10 minutes!). Total 30 minutes!
Old fashioned rrom with very old windows, so a lot fo noise from the street below!
Very cheap bathroom products (shower gel and shampoo). You can expect that from a 3 Star not from a 5 Star! Toilet flush broken in the morning so water over flushed in th ebathroom. Shower door does no tavoid neither water spill! So you feel like you take a bath after! Breakfast room located on th e11th floor, is so poor! large tables of 10,you share your breakfast with 5 or 6 people that you don;t know! What a sense of privacy!
So really terrible experience! Please if you travel to Shanghai don't come here!
