“Good Hotel in Shanghai”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

I have stayed here on 4-5 occassions in the last year. If you want ot be in the Pudong area, it is a very good choice. My current stay has seen a decline in service levels on previous stays, but overall I would say its a good hotel. The restaurants are Ok-good, especially the shanghanese with great food, good view, though a little lacking in any style.. breakfast is Ok, go for the individual food choices as the all up prices are expensive.

We stayed for 3 nights on a city get away. The sightseeing bus tour stops in the front of the hotel. The hotel itself was brilliant. The service was outstanding, the rooms were lovely, the views incredible, the breakfast was excellent, the skybar was an experience... all in all it was first class. Yes it was expensive but in my humble view not extortionate. The hotel is in the financial district of Pudong and amongst the top "brand" stores and malls. The sightseeing bus (not the one branded "Big Red" as this is literally 10x more expensive than the other one just called Shanghai Sightseeing) was the easiest way to get around and to get to the Pu-chi side of the river.

Room Tip: We had a standard room.... without the Pu-Chi view ... it was excellent. At that height, it doesn...

My conclusion is that you can get the satisfaction just as the same as the cost, not exceed.
The reasons are as below,
< good points >
- posh and clean room
- very good breakfast baffet
- fabulous atmosphere
- great architecture and good design
- can arrange a baby cot in advance
< bad points >
- scenery; it's too far from Waitan, because the room is so high. Not so beautiful as you expect. And the glass of the windows are not always clean.
- expensive; everything is expensive
- not so good neighborhood for walking around

It's true that this is one of the fabulous hotels in Shanghai, but I recommend you to stay Wadorf Astria Shanghai on the bund, Les Suites Orient Shanghai on the bund, or Peace Hotel Shanghai, if you pay the same ammount of money.

The hotel is well situated in Pudong area, walking distance to IFC, zheng da mall, and other shopping and eatery places. Hotel service is good and the beds are comfortable. I personally very much enjoyed the 1.6 metres deep swimming pool. As the hotel rooms are all located at least 50th floor and above, every guest of this hotel will definitely get a good view of the city area.

We stayed for a couple nights in the middle of October and had a large corner room. What a magnificent view from our room! We also had access to the Club lounge, had a nice daily breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres with spirits. The club lounge had a beautiful view as well. The swimming pool location was grand and the hotel staff were very respectful and attentive. We will definitely stay again. The location was right in the middle of the financial hub. One of the best hotels we've stayed at in Asia/Middle East.

The hotel is located not far away from the end of the walking tiral along the Huang Po River and the hotel window can look at the best night view of th river and beautiful architectual building along the river side. The one of the must try thing in this hotel is the breakfast, which they have more than 100 different kind of food and all very good taste. The services is ok and the room is tidy and clean. however the price is a bit high. but this is a good choice for a city business trip and for vistor just want to see the Shanghai city.

Room Tip: Must book the room at high floor and oversea the river view
