Love this place. Stayed for a second time recently, was upgraded to a Club room, which was much appreciated. Room was huge, almost like a tiny HK apartment! Very nice breakfast and lunch buffet, yum! Staff extremely attentive and helpful. Couldn't fault the place. Well done, one contented customer!

In transiting through Shanghai I had one night to kill in Shanghai. This was good value for money for an average hotel that appears quite popular for both Westerners & Chinese. Location is fine as 15-20 minutes to Bund & Nanjing Road surrounded by plenty of restaurants / bars if you don't want to travel far. Service was friendly enough & breakfast restaurant basic but inclusive in room rate. Rooms a little tired although comfortable. Would stay here again if just transiting & looking for economical option opposed to 5 star hotels for longer stay.

Room Tip: Don't be shy to ask for early checkin as front desk quite helpful

This is a nice hotel, with a pretty good location for business travelers. There are plenty of westerner and middle eastern restaurants in the area to get a taste of back home. The food in the hotel is good, but it's not something I'm going to be craving.

The embassies are close and the neighborhood fairly affluent and safe. Several subway stops in the area make it very easy to get into downtown or to your tourist destinations quickly.

Would stay again, but I still think I prefer being closer to People's Square or the Bund for site seeing. This is a lot quieter and a good runner up, and possibly better for business depending on your destination.

One of the finest hotels ever! We were absolutely impressed by this hotel, from the luxurious rooms, great amenities, and the breakfast--unbelievable in that they cater to all continents and tastes with a huge variety of wonderfully prepared food. You can sample cuisine from all over the world, prepared to satisfy everyone's tastes. You can actually get a great glass of wine in this hotel, as opposed to many in China. The view from the rooms are great. We were there in August, 2010

Stayed in the Premier or Premium Rooms. Hotel has been there for a while but rooms have been refurbished; hence cosy and expected of the category hotel. Good sports facility particularly if you enjoy tennis. Located in the French Cossesionaire so good location if you are looking to stay in the outskirts of the city (a 25min cab ride depending on traffic from Nanjing Road) but enjoy a part of the town which has a very unique European feel to it; roads flanked by old shady trees, parks and chic restaurants.

Conceirge staff are extremely friendly, knowledgable (provide good advise on food, places to go, and local tips) and understands/speak English well. Helpful for non-Chinese speaking tourists who may require extra assistance to provide detailed directions, serve as translator with taxi driver or local travel agent, etc.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Premier or Premium Rooms and they have been fairly recently been refurbished so comfor...

I really enjoyed our stay at the Regal International East Asia Hotel. There were lots of sports choices. I especially loved the indoor swimming pool and the bowling alley. The bowing alley was 40RMB, per person per game. But there were also 7 outdoor tennis courts, and 2 indoor tennis courts. The swimming pool was huge, and extremely clean. The bowling alley was very fun. From there we went to see all of the sights in Shanghai. I hope to come back soon, it is a beautiful city.

Room Tip: Upgrading to the Regal club is really worth it.
