One of the finest hotels ever! We were absolutely impressed by this hotel, from the luxurious rooms, great amenities, and the breakfast--unbelievable in that they cater to all continents and tastes with a huge variety of wonderfully prepared food. You can sample cuisine from all over the world, prepared to satisfy everyone's tastes. You can actually get a great glass of wine in this hotel, as opposed to many in China. The view from the rooms are great. We were there in August, 2010

Stayed in the Premier or Premium Rooms. Hotel has been there for a while but rooms have been refurbished; hence cosy and expected of the category hotel. Good sports facility particularly if you enjoy tennis. Located in the French Cossesionaire so good location if you are looking to stay in the outskirts of the city (a 25min cab ride depending on traffic from Nanjing Road) but enjoy a part of the town which has a very unique European feel to it; roads flanked by old shady trees, parks and chic restaurants.

Conceirge staff are extremely friendly, knowledgable (provide good advise on food, places to go, and local tips) and understands/speak English well. Helpful for non-Chinese speaking tourists who may require extra assistance to provide detailed directions, serve as translator with taxi driver or local travel agent, etc.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Premier or Premium Rooms and they have been fairly recently been refurbished so comfor...

I really enjoyed our stay at the Regal International East Asia Hotel. There were lots of sports choices. I especially loved the indoor swimming pool and the bowling alley. The bowing alley was 40RMB, per person per game. But there were also 7 outdoor tennis courts, and 2 indoor tennis courts. The swimming pool was huge, and extremely clean. The bowling alley was very fun. From there we went to see all of the sights in Shanghai. I hope to come back soon, it is a beautiful city.

Room Tip: Upgrading to the Regal club is really worth it.

I am a frequent traveller who travels to Shanghai every month. But this is my first time to stay in Puxi. Having stayed in this hotel for three nights, I found this hotel is very well managed with excellent services and high standard security level.

The lift may only stop at the guestroom floor according to the key card, very safe concern by the operator.

As the purpose of business travelling, I spent quite some time in the business center, which satisfied all business needs, including English system computer.

The room I stayed is quite large and well arranged. Acoustic insulation is good. The excellent air-conditioning supply is extremely important having considered the high temperature in Shanghai these days. Shower is separate from bath. The mattress is amazingly comfortable. Housekeeping is efficient and quiet.

Food in Chinese restaurant is in high quality. I did not try their western restaurant, but according to the introduction by their staff, David Beckham had his lunch in that restaurant during his Shanghai trip last month. Buffet breakfast on the ground floor has a great variety of both Chinese and western styles.

The hotel has amazingly professional gym facilities with several inside and outside tennis courts, squash courts, bowling room, swimming pool, and a health club. This hotel is especially valuable for the sports amateurs.

The service is very good. Concierge is helpful to supply information and assist to book train tickets. Bellboy arranged taxi and advised the estimate time and price to the destination.

I stayed here for three weeks for the proximity to my work place. I am a frequent traveler to China. The room I had first was renovated and was generally fine. The housekeeping did a good job cleaning. The hotel has access to a pool which is also a reason for picking it. I realize the hotel may not have management over the pool but the pool (while kept warm), can be really gross when swimmers spit into the gutters despite a giant sign in Chinese and English to not spit. The showers are also never clean (hair in the drain) so I opted to go back to my room to shower. The gym is fine and quiet large but they don't turn on the air con unless you ask.

The service is really spotty. The front desk barely greeted me upon arrival and didn't bother with a thank you upon check out. The concierge was fine when I asked for some help once but the lobby is full of hotel workers standing around doing nothing. They great the "foreign" looking guests with a "good morning" but ignore all the Chinese guests. I find this amusing as the rest of the world's hotel industry is trying so hard to lure these same customers. When you step out the door and stand there, none of the bellman will ask if you want a cab (except one older gentleman). They need you to ask them first and then it takes some effort to get their attention as they are always chatting with each other. This is fine if there is not a lot of guests but during morning commute hours? I agree with the one reviewer who say they are arrogant. I have stayed at so many good hotels in China with excellent service. This is not one.

My last day there, I had to move rooms as they were cleaning the air conditioning vents. the room was smaller and very awkwardly furnished. You basically can't stand in front and open the closet at the same time. Good thing it was one night only. I wish i remember the number to advise others from getting it.

A very good hotel with excellent service. The hotel locates in a bar street close to Xujiahui Commercial Area, easy access to subway station.

Guestrooms are very large and clean, with free wifi and city map. The hotel supplies several different styles of mattress for the guest to ensure a most comfortable rest.

There are many options for buffet breakfast, food quality in both restaurants are high standard and delicate.

The hotel supplies a very professional fitness center with several tennis courts (both indoor and outdoor), swimming pool as well as gym facilities.

General feeling: the hotel is very good managed with very friendly and helpful staff and good facilities.
