This hotel is doing great in general. The staffs are pretty friendly, and they have the welcome cookies for the guests. I quite appreciate they were always trying the best to fulfil guests needs. It was pretty awesome.

This hotel is value for money. Though it might appear to be away from Puxi area and not corelated to any of the action area in Pudong, it is just mins away from all of them by taxi. The hotel publuc area and room are spacious so it will not give you a clausophobia feeling at all (after all it's Pudong). The staffs are very helpful and waiting time is minimal. It's close to the Zhang Jiang Industry park (about 10-15 mins), and if you stay over thru the weekend, the Century Park (biggest park in Pudong) is 5-10 mins walk. I'd highly recommend this hotel to visitors who are on business for a lengthy stay (5 days or more). It gives you the city life you need, and yet it's not in the middle of all that, leaving you with spacious & quietness if you need them.

Dear Kan John L,

Many thanks for the review and 4 stars. We like first time visitors, we also like first time visitors coming back to be repeat guests even more. As you pointed out, we are big but we like to give small property attention to our guests. We are a wonderful alternative to the Puxi side.

Come back soon!

Stayed 3/23 to 3/29. Have stayed at the Courtyard on DongfangRd., Renaissance and Shangri-La. Was upgraded upon checking in to the East Wing Suite. Room was clean, tidy and not have that hotel smell. Surpassed what I expected in a DoubleTree room. The staff were very attentive and professional upon checking in and at the Executive Lounge. The Sensations Revolving restaurant was an experince as you see Pudong 360 while having a meal, althought I believe it is over-priced.
This hotel is one block away from the subway which is covenient when exploring Shanghai.
My only complain, if that, is the A/C. It was set for winter mode and I could not get the room temperature I preferred. I had to open the window to cool down the suite. And my room faced 2 buildings that were under construction. For this reason I could not rate it at 5 stars.

Very professional Hilton Hotel, really friendly and efficient staff. I was lucky enought to be offered a free upgrade to a suite just because I'm a Hilton Honours Silver member. The suite was fantastic and very much appreciated. Thanks a lot.

This hotel offers many benefits for Hilton's top customers (Gold, and Diamond). I always get upgraded to an amazing suite in the top floors. The hotel is located on Pudong that makes it easy to get and depart to the airport. The lobby offers bars and restaurants and very spacious. Overall, as a solo traveler, I prefer to stay here instead of the more pricey Hilton... Enjoy Shanghai, AB

The room HVAC malfunctioned. They couldn't turn off the heat & couldn't cool down the room. Got to 27 C - had to open the windows. Staff was friendly but not competent to fix the problem. Expected more from Double Tree.

Dear J9352FPDavidD,

Many thanks for bringing to my attention the HVAC problems you experienced. Please accept my sincere apology for our inability to correct the issues and "make it right". It is wonderful that you found our staff to be friendly but it would have been fantastic for you to experience a problem free stay.

I hope if your future travels bring you back to Shanghai you will give us another opportunity to earn your future business.

Slightly outdated hotel although I am in the new East Wing, on the 39th floor. I have been upgraded to a suite and the check-in receptionist seems genuinely happy to greet and meet me with a warm smile.

I quickly receive my Double Tree cookie and make my way to my room which is a 2-room suite. The room is well appointed albeit slightly tired, and there is a lovely fruit basket and chocolates waiting for me.

The gym/pool/sauna is lovely and relaxing after the flight from Singapore. It is quite empty though.

The lounge is huge and unusually on the first floor. I have a couple of snacks and a bottle of water. Again, this is empty.

I sleep very well and the next morning I have breakfast in the restaurant on level 1. The food is OK. The Chinese staff are lovely but the Western staff (possible in placements from hotel schools) could do with a few lessons on customer service.

All in all a good stay.
