Great hotel. Great location and fantastic staff in the modern reception.
The room views are fantastic. Ask for a high floor like we have done. You might see Pudong.
My only complain is the lobby that is sometimes completely reserved and no space for the guests to sit but it might be Shanghai style.
The breakfast is very good and its open until 10:30.
I will stay again with you in my next visit to that city of 24 million people.
Gonçalo and Mércia

Room Tip: Stay in a high floor.

I visited the lounge with several friends, and service was almost non existent. Unacceptable for a hotel under a big brand. While the eclairs were good, it was extremely difficult to get the attention of the wait staff.

And they took a long time to take our order and bring us the bill. Despite the pastries being good, this is not an experience I'm looking to repeat anytime soon. Very disappointing.

Stayed on 29th of this month for two nights on business trip. Wonderful experience of the staff and facilities. You are able to check-in along side the reception staff. Reception desks are avoided giving a feeling of openness without any barriers allowing you to communicate with ease. Very modern rooms with the latest gadgets. Liked the changing color schemes in the bath and the room. Use of technology in the room allows you to get the best experience. All controls in the room can be managed through the i-pad. The breakfast restaurant seemed small with limited choice. Overall cannot complain on any other aspects of the hotels. The seamless interactions with the staff and the Front Office Manager makes Andaz a great choice. The upscale location is yet another plus for any traveler wanting to experience Shanghai.

This hotel is simply wonderful. Located in Xiantiandi... Here the guest is in the middle of the most Fashion area in Shanghai. Is little bit expensive but the money are spent well. The breakfast is good, the rooms big and clean with big windows, so u can see the city.. The view is amazing in the night!

I have stayed at the Andaz twice now. During my first stay I had a regular room and it was too small. The bathroom however was great with a great rain shower. During my second stay I had a corner room and it was much better. Well worth the extra expense.

The hotel has a good fitness center and indoor pool as well a great breakfast and complimentary happy hour. I will say however that one night they stopped pouring red wine after about one bottle which I still do not understand. There were not many people at happy hour do they couldn't have run out. There are free soft drinks and coffee in the reception area--just help yourself. The service at the Andaz is only average--most of the workers are very young. They do what is asked but not much more.

Room service food is only average but there are many restaurants right across the street in Xintiandi. Don't miss Tin Tai Fung for the pork and black truffle dumplings. It is located in Xintiandi upstairs in the mall. A quick walk from the hotel. There is also a Watson's Wine across the street from the hotel. Good selection and prices for Shanghai.

All in all this is a good choice in Shanghai especially if you can get a good deal online. Xintiandi is a nice walking area with restaurants, bars and shops. I would put the Andaz at the top of my good value in Shanghai list (assuming a good online rate).

Room Tip: Book a corner room. It is worth the extra expense.

Lovely, lovely hotel - would recommend it. Cool bathrooms with changing colors and glow in the dark bath accessories. They upgraded me to a suite, with windows spanning almost the entire room. All controls via mini-Ipads in the room. Breakfast buffet is very nice, plenty of choices. Sitting outside was very nice as weather permitted. The neighborhood is very upscale, which is good if you like shopping on 5th Avenue stores. I might have preferred other options. Hotel is a great choice.

Stayed here for 4 nights on business in May. Very pleasant comfortable high end boutique hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with nice features such as large shower, adjustable lighting colors and very comfortable bed. Excellent happy hour which is complimentary. Breakfast choices are varied and quite good. Service was excellent at check in and through out stay.Only areas of improvement can be in size and location of fitness center which is relatively small and in basement of hotel and in house restaurants which were average and nothing special. Will stay here next time in Shanghai.

Room Tip: High floor.
