I stayed there for 2 nights, the rooms are great, nice housekeeping staff and rooms are clean. Spa is excellent and I end up went there 2 days...
Not too many choices for breakfast, only have pastry and egg station and charge around CNY$218... With that amount of money please try to offer more options...
The only thing needs to be improved will be the service of staff. Tried to have breakfast at 8:30 and restaurant was full and staff asked me to go to the lounge for breakfast. When I get to the lounge, no one served customers at all and they are focus on talking among themselves.... When I asked if I can sit anywhere for breakfast and they asked me to go back to the restaurant. At the end I didn't have anything at all, it's a bit unorganized.
Other than that everything is fine, location is excellent and easy to go around the city. May go there again but will not have the breakfast for sure

I have only stayed at about ten 5-star hotels before, but I wanted to do something special for New Year's Eve. Upon arrival, the service was impeccable. They asked me if I would like a late check-out the next morning because of the holiday. The room has the 'wow' factor with a giant bathroom and very large windows and an overall very modern feel. The free coffee downstairs includes a cappuccino machine that makes the wonderful cappuccinos. When going out the back door, the famous XinTianDi area is right across the street. This is the best hotel I have stayed at.

Judging from its ranking, Andaz Shanghai seems to be a slightly underrated hotel. I decided to stay there because I wanted to clock stays under the Hyatt group, and there was a really good deal online. I wasn't disappointed at all. Highly recommended!

Location: Great location literally across the street from Xintiandi, which has plenty of restaurants and shopping. It's also just a 5-minute walk from the Line 1 metro, one stop away from People's Square and one stop away from South Shaanxi, which is a really funky part of the French Concession with some of the best restaurants in the city. It's a 10-minute walk from the Line 10 metro, which will bring you to other attractions such as the Yuyuan Gardens. A far better location, in my opinion, than The Bund.

Rooms/Facilities: Very modern design with good-sized rooms. I moved to an XL Suite after two nights, and was totally blown away! The suite was craaaaaaaazy huge with two storeys! Mini-bar was free even for the standard rooms. Breakfast was decent, but nothing to rave about. Unfortunately they didn't have a Club Lounge, which one would expect at a luxury hotel like this. Instead, they provide snacks for all at the lobby, and apparently free drinks for guests at 6-8pm everyday. The spa/gym/pool was lovely.

Service: Warm, but nothing particularly outstanding.

Value: I paid about 1,200 yuan for the standard room (with breakfast) and 2,000 yuan for the XL Suite (with breakfast). Amazing value for the suite!

Andaz is modern & conveniently located but the best thing about it is that it has by far the most technological intriguing bathroom of any hotel I have ever been to. The sink & tub glow red & green alternatively and the hi-tech toilet (heated seat, sensor to automatically lift toilet cover or seat, plus many ways of washing & drying) was quite a treat.
As most of Chinese hotel, concierge service is not great. I asked them to book din tai fung for me & were told it was fully booked the entire day. I went there & it was empty & got seated right away. The seating policy of DTF is complicated but the concierge took the easy way out by telling me it was fully booked, instead of telling me the facts. I guess Chinese service has a long way to go still.

First visit to Andaz, although i have stayed at Langham previously.
Managed to get a great rate at Andaz around 120-140 euros per night inc breakfast.
A really great hotel to stay whether business or leisure. If travelling alone its so close to restaurants that you dont need to stay in the hotel to eat, which is a plus. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are good. The breakfast room can very busy at times but the lounge area is available to have breakfast in which is a good alternative for more informal setting.
I would definitely stay here again, whether on business or pleasure. If you are female travelling alone ( i wasnt this time, but have to do on regular basis) i would definitely recommend this hotel.

Through Hyatt’s website, we found the Andaz (we never heard it or noticed it when visiting XTD area a few times before, and decided to give a try due to its location and a Hyatt brand). It was a very good pick. The location is perfect: near XTD, almost on Huihai Road (a premier street for shopping and dining), and one small block away from a subway station. Every room on higher floors should provide a good view of down town of Shanghai. Our room was facing east with a view of Pudong’s high-rises. Unfortunately, for those days we stayed, Shanghai had the worst period of smog and we didn’t realize the new WFC building was in view for the first few days! The room size is decent, comparable to other Hyatt properties in Shanghai. Its noise insulation was very good. One thing we particularly like is the rain shower head, which is very powerful (caution: don’t spend too much time under it; otherwise you would need a nap to recover). We know Toto’s washlet models well and the one in our room is one of the high end models. The color change of the lights in bedroom and bath room was cute. The wifi was very reliable with decent speed. Also, their free soft drink offer is very nice and unique among 5-star hotels or any other hotels we have stayed: the soft drinks are free not only in room, but also in the lobby area (the coffee and mini pastries were surprisingly good). It has a good pool, but its spa capacity was limited and it’s closed earlier (we failed to book an appointment for a later night service). The service was also very good, except attentiveness of the staff at the check-in stands (I mentioned it in the after-stay survey and got a prompt reply from a manager, which shows that the management is serious about customer service). We did try the restaurant twice (a dinner and a Sunday brunch). The dinner food was very good and the brunch was just OK. As expected, the food was on the pricy side. Overall, we had an excellent stay and have put it on our hotel choice list for our future visit (we visit Shanghai almost every year and have tried different hotels).

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors office better view with no street noise.
