Aaron's House is a little hidden, but once you find your way there you won't want to leave. Mu husband and I found the location to be perfect. Not only is it just a few hundred metres from the closest Metro station, but it sits amongst what I would consider to be a real Shanghai neighbourhood. There are quite a few places to eat nearby, including a little Hotpot restaurant only 100 metres away which was fantastic - turn left out of the hotel, stay on the same side of the road and walk about 100m. Also, People's Square is only a ten minute walk away and The Bund, a fifteen minute walk.
The rooms are oh so grand (we felt like royalty) and the staff could not do enough for us. They were extremely polite and nothing was too much trouble. We loved walking up and down the grand staircase each day rather than taking the lift because it was in keeping with the setting of the hotel. Despite the loud honking of horns on Jinling Road outside, inside Aarons House was always peaceful and quiet.
In my books, this hotel gets ten out of ten.More
