This is large and busy restaurant, with elaborate decor. Somewhat dark (we used our phones to illuminate the menus) and loud. The staff is friendly, and our server spoke a little English -- enough to tell us that they were out of the dish we particularly wanted to try.

In any case, the food was good, and so were our drinks.

Reservations seem to be necessary (we were there on a Thursday, it was nearly full).

This is a branch of the famous Lost Heaven chain. We went at lunch time on the weekend and had no trouble getting a table. The menu is in English and is very varied. We didn't wait very long for the food and the staff asked us whether we were prepared to wait for the one dish which took longer. The food was excellent and quite different to other restaurants in Shanghai and around.
The restaurant itself is atmospheric and very comfortable despite being very large and the staff are attentive.
We'll definitely go again.

This unassuming restaurant from the outside is Excellent. It serves Yunnan Folk Cuisine which we had no idea about but everything was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The menu is different with lots of items we were unfamiliar with but we selected and enjoyed every mouthful. The restaurant has a number of floors and areas to dine with low tables and low lighting, at some tables they provide torches to read the menu. Its relaxed friendly staff may you feel at home and there is no rush to leave. We ordered 3 dishes to share and had 4 beers and it only cost 200CNY. You wont be disappointed.

Try the lounge on the 2floor for a last drink ! Good music, u can eat or take a drink ... No great view directly on the whole skyline (restaurant is not directly on the Bund) but still worth spending a while up-there !

Been here on 3 occasions and in terms of service and quality of food, it's very good.
The service is attentive, polite and professional. The crowd is a mix of expats and locals - both adding to the ambience. Although extremely dark, this further adds to the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Whether you start at the rooftop bar (if it's especially busy or you are slightly early) or finish there, it provides a sense of being in a tropical destination enjoying wonderful drinks rather than in the bustling city of Shanghai. Views are limited and it's a fallacy to say there are good views of the Bund.

Rating this 4 stars only as this is not 'authentic' Yunnan food - nonetheless, the food is delicious and a number of dishes could be argued to resemble offerings from their sister restaurant, Coconut Paradise which offers excellent Thai food.

Would I go again? Yes, for the food, the bar and the overall atmosphere.
