“Heaven found”

A fantastic restaurant serving up spicy spicy food from the Yunnan region as well as Burmese and Laos cuisine. Deliciously spicy and served by friendly staff in well designed dining room. The restaurant was very large and lively, not for a romantic night out. The bar was beautifully decorated but unfortunately on a cold february night the bar was no warmer inside than out. Service here was very slow given that there was only one other couple in at the time. The cocktail waiter didn't know how to make a hi ball. However sticking to the cocktail menu you would have no problem. A huge outdoor space will be a great place to sip a drink in the summer.
The restaurant is a must if you are in Shanghai. Not too expensive. Great staff, great food and great atmosphere. Just be aware it is not on The Bund therefore the views we had been expecting were not there. However this didn't detract from our experience and I will certainly be making this a regular place to eat in the city.

“Excellent food but it is not on the Bund”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

The name of this restaurant suggests to me two main things. The first is a quiet restful environment and the second is that it actually has views over the Bund. Whilst neither of these is in fact true it does not detract from what is an excellent restaurant. The decor is fantastic and the staff attentive and helpful. The place was very busy with a real mixture of couples ,families and business groups.
The food is a mixture of Burmese and Yunnan cuisine and was excellent. The lamb samosas ans hot and sour prawns a real stand out.
We will definitely go back.

“Worth trying”

This place always gets rave reviews. The decor and restaurant is very nice. The food is supposed to be really good. Unfortunately I have never found anything that I liked but the food is still supposed to be very good. I do recommend the place.

“Nice, but noisy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013 via mobile

Food was great, specially the tea leaf salad, but some items were sold out or not available which was quite upsetting. Also the ambiance is not as cosy as the other one in Shanghai and as very noisy in comparison. Service was nice and friendly.
