The rooms are big and clean althought very noisy (i could hear the street life quite easily) and there were lots of mosquitos in the bathroom.
Wifi in the lobby was not working. There were sheets on the floor in the corridor(?). Breakfast is ok provided you eat chinese food in the morning (very few continental food).
Be careful you are not locales nearby te airport but 10km away (15 min with the shuttle)
I could easily take the shuttle at night and in the morning (every 30 min) but during the day turn over is one shuttle/hour.
I arrived at 22h30 and the doorman wanted to sell me a foot massage when he brought my Luggage into my room...
I stayed only one night and it was enough!

Stayed at hotel for a few hours only as I had a long layover and wanted a room close to the airport. Bathroom was clean, bed was comfy and room was ok. Did not eat at hotel. Shuttle to airport was on time and easy to use. Rates very good. Many pilots and stewardesses were staying there as well. Front desk spoke English and were very accommodating.
Good hotel for quick sleep and a shower.

On a recent overnight stay near the Shanghai Pudong airport, I was a bit concerned by some users' negative reviews of this location.

I found the room to be comfortable and clean, the grounds were nice, the staff was efficient, and the shuttle was easy to use. Enough said...all you need in an airport hotel- and better than most international airport experiences I've had. I'll plan on staying here on my flight out of China, for sure.

We spent here just a few hours, due to our flight of China Southern was delayed.
The hotel is managed by the airline.
The rooms are OK, don't expect a 5 star room type, but is comfortable enough.
They have working cable TV with a few English speaking channels.
The location is only useful if you have a flight in a few hours, since is far from everything except Pudong Airport.
Around the area, walking about 300 meters to the left will bring you to a street with many local restaurants.
The lack of English is real, but anyone who travels around China knows that unless you go to international hotel chains, language can be an issue.

If you are not coming here because of a flight delayed, plan in advance and keep a picture on your phone or print a paper with the address and name in CHINESE CHARACTERS. Dont expect a bus/taxi driver to understand English, much less to know the name of a hotel in English (the names tend to change quite a lot from Chinese to English).

To resume: spent just the minimum time, and only if you need to go to/from Pudong Airport, and only need a shower and a bed.

A very comfortable hotel if you need to be close to Pudong airport, as I was for an early morning departure.
Breakfast was ok...but no western option.
Had dinner buffet for £9 which was also fine, although if closed at 9pm.
Very good comfortable room, but wifi was confined to just public areas....not in your room.

Reception staff on arrival were very to the point....need to be educated in basic manners.
All in all 6.5/10.

The hotel is about 10km from the Pudong airport and about 35k to the Bund, with no transportation close by, you are stck here until the over crowded shuttle bus comes and goes, about every hour.

This is a China Southern Airlines run hotel and promotes itself as a 4* but it is more like 2*. If you're here like I (unwilling) was it was because your China Southern flight out of some Chinese city was delayed, delayed, delayed, like mine was out of Shenzhen (arriving 7 hours late so missing my overseas connection by 3 hours), with no explanation, no communication, no customer service unless you can call blank stares and a shoulder shrug customer service?

It took another 2 hours at Pudong waiting from baggage arrival to actually finding the customer service desk late at night, to actually getting information about the missed connection and accommodation. Then a long wait for an overcrowded shuttle bus with a rugby scrum on arrival to get to the service desk for check in.

Guess who wins?

The Chinese passengers, even if you are elderly. There were only 2 staff for about 25 people. Even if you are first in line, the Chinese behind you will push in and wave their papers and the service staff will register them first! Not totally rude but totally

TTTOOOTTTTAAALLLY

R U D E,

from both sides of the counter, and all this time rude sucking nasal and spitting sounds all around you. Yuck.

Then absolutely no information about breakfast, lunch, the location of the restaurant, the internet (cable in the room which did not work) or wifi (only in the lobby where it is painfully slow), or anything else - just plain rudeness from all the staff if you are English speaking, and loud talking and arm waving for the Chinese.

Finally got a room and was in the not bad but dingy room, sort of Soviet communistic era style decor and fittings, 2 small bottles of water and a few complimentary combs and such like.

Don't expect more water, they will ignore you requests.

Some English TV channels like Discovery and Nat Geo but only CNN, BBC was blacked out.

Breakfast was on the 2nd floor but this took about 30 mins to find out as none of the reception staff seem to speak English. Be warned, the breakfast finishes at 9.30 sharp, they just clear all the food away and leave the restaurant empty. And there is no where close by to get a snack or a coffee. Anyhow, at breakfast you have to put up with loud slurping, nasal, noises, gurgling, smacking sounds as the Chinese around gulp their food with their mouths wide open so you can see what they are eating and swallowing, while yelling loudly on their cell phones. .

Shower looked OK but was the sort that went from scalding hot to cold to scalding hot in a microsecond so having a decent shower was impossible as the fear of 2nd degree burns leaves you little time to have a decent scrub. No bath tub .... so how can they rate this as 4 star??

This hotel is NOT for English speaking peple, the staff do NOT speak enough English to communicate, plus are as rude and abrupt as the communist era Chinese used to be.

This is only a hotel, if you are really really really REEAAALLLYY desperate, and need some sort of bed of any sort.

If TA had negative ratings this place would get a minus ten -10 from me.

NOT RECOMMENDED UNLESS YOU ARE DESPERATE.

Really, really desperate.

Room Tip: Go try any other hotel first. Only stay here if you are really really desperate,
