“Exceptional experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2014

We found Shanghai- Lander on trip advisor and had the pleasure of several months correspondence with Jean Liu to plan our trip.
We spent two weeks in Shanghai and 4 full days with Annie Guo as our personal guide. Our days with Annie were interspersed throughout the 2 weeks and included a day trip to Suzhou by train and a day trip to Zouzhuang by car. We stayed in both a private apartment and hotel and Annie met us wherever we were that day. We can not say enough great things about Annie. She is great! Extremely professional, very enthusiastic about her city and showing her clients an excellent time. Her English is outstanding and she has a very good sense of humor :) She helped us buy a Metro card we used the entire time, taught us how to use the train system so we were able to travel to Hangzhou on our own without a glitch, bought our train tickets for us, e- mailed us the times of the day the Maglev train was at it's fastest speed so we could ride it for fun, met us at the ERA Acrobat show with our tickets and showed us to our seats and took us to the neighborhood eating places per our request.
Our itinerary included all the usual places to visit but we also walked through traditional neighborhoods, the fish/flower/pet market, old town etc... The Bund is not to be missed during the day and night. We love museums so the Shanghai museum is not to be missed. Annie gave us a wonderful tour of the entire museum hitting the highlights as well as the Urban planning Center. On my own I went to MOCA ( museum of contemporary art ) and Liuli China Museum. The Suzhou Museum by IM PEI is also impressive and beautiful. The Silk Factory in Suzhou was fun to visit.
Jean Liu was never more than a text/email away. She arranged our trip to Hangzhou and our guide there Jane Huang with driver Mr. Ping! We will have to return as there was so much more to see in Hangzhou than we allotted time for. The Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale she arranged for us was a 10 star hotel for sure.
Jean also arranged for us last minute to spend our last 4 nights in Shanghai City Center at Le Royal Meriden Hotel and secured tickets for the acrobat show which we thoroughly enjoyed.
I highly recommend Shanghai Lander, Jean and Annie. They have created a superior service and you will not be disappointed. We are anxious to return one day soon!

“a great way to learn about the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2014

Just to agree with the genreal sentiment that this is a great thing to do if you have some time in shanghai. We did a half day tour with Annie which was really great - we covered a lot of ground including some of the banks, a food market, the Yu Garden, the old town and the Urban planning centre (more interesting than it sounds!). Annie was good company, she has a fun sense of humour and was happy to tailor the tour to what we wanted. for example I wanted to know more about the food that was sold in the local shops so we went to the large food department store on Nanjing Rd and Annie explained to me all the various local things on sale and how, when and why they would be eaten. It was a really interesting few hours and I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in getting the locals' perspective on life in Shanghai.

“Highly Recommended!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014

We had arranged a tour in Jan 2014 with Jean based on a recommendations from friends that had toured with her previously. So glad that we had Jean available to show us around for our brief 4 hours in Shanghai. She showed us some of the highlights in our brief time there and was able to answer our many questions while we were exploring the city. Can't wait to plan a subsequent trip to Shanghai so that we can spend more time in this vibrant city and will definitely contact Jean again to show us around.

“Jean Made Shanghai Come Alive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2014

My wife and I had the good fortune to to spend the day yesterday in the company of Jean Liu. II had visited Shanghai abot 4 years ago, but h=just for 2 days. This time I had only one day in the city with my wife, and I wanted to share it with her. I found Jean on TripAdvisor and am so glad I did...and that she was personally available to show us her city. She arranged for an early morning pickup at the airport and another early morning return transfer today. She met us at our hotel about 9:45 am and spent the remainder of the day sharing her enthusiam and deep knowledge of Shanghai's complicated history and present. She weas great in hepling to make tings come alive--even more so as the city prepares for Chinese New Years celebrations. Along the way we enjoyed a typical Shanghai lunch with Jean, and she was even very helpful in steering my wife in the right direction to make a sought-after purchase at the pearl market. Don't hesitate to book Jean for at least a day when in Shangahi.

“Brilliant introduction to Shanghai”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

We have just completed a one day tour of Shanghai with our guide Annie Guo. Every aspect of our our tour was outstanding, from booking the tour online to finding little gems along the way. Today has been the highlight of our trip to date. Annie's professionalism and knowledge of this great city is remarkable. She is an enthusiastic and passionate ambassador for this city, she will ensure that you are looked after and experience the very best of what Shanghai has to offer.

I highly recommend booking a tour through Shanghai lander and can guarantee a fantastic tour with Annie Guo. Keep up the great work.
