“Impressive building, but quite stressful to travel through”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

Obviously a train station is a busy place, but be aware that it can get VERY busy, so leave yourself plenty of time if you are catching a train. Its big and modern, but don't expect to get a seat, and it can get quite hot even with the aircon. Boarding a train can be a bit of a free for all, so make sure you are assertive at the boarding gates otherwise you will get left. If you have heavy bags or cases there are no obvious porters or help, so travel light and make sure you get your bags into the limited luggage space on board the trains

“Huge”

Well laid out and easy to find your away around, even though we do not speak any Chinese. A bit short of places to purchase drinks or food but fine otherwise.

“Trains work well; the station too”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

But take time to study the system; buy tickets in advance; know the number of your train; and keep moving! The speed of the journey is matched by the efficiency of the processing. Impressive.

“An Ocean of People”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

Enter this railway station only if you have bought your train ticket in advance and you have it in your pocket.

Ticket purchase on site can be a challenge, indeed! There are possibly thousands waiting to do the same.

Signage is good if your read Chinese. As a foreigner you have to follow your intuition or ask people. Be prepared, not everybody speaks English. If you made a mistake, there is no pardon! You must line up anew. It can take you some 75 to 90 minutes to get what you want.

The station is clean, spacious and well organized. Access to the trains is easy.

Beware of taxi touts. They look harmless and charge you an arm an a leg.

Finding a regular taxi is only for insiders.

“Wow. Heads up and keep on moving”

This is one busy place but laid out well with good logic. I had no idea where to meet my family when I got off the bullet train, but going with the flow and instinct served me well
