I had a private double room, but they put me in a family room instead (which was fine with me). The room was reasonable sized and had a small TV and water kettle. Walls are on the thin side, and one night my neighbor blasted his television until about 4am, which kept me awake. It's winter, and the whole place was pretty cold. Everyone in the bar was wearing jackets, and my room did eventually warm up, but the heater worked slowly and it turned off when you left the room so you always had to wait for it to get warm again.
Place was very clean, comfortable bed, great value, and you can't beat the location. Close to the Bund, Nanjing Rd, and metro. The hostel is located on the sixth floor of a multi-use building. Sometimes during the work day, there could be a little bit of a wait for the elevator. I thought the hostel was okay while I was there, but I appreciated the facilities a lot more in comparison when I stayed at another hostel in Shanghai.
Tip: For a cheap breakfast or daytime snack, there's a baozi stand on the hostel's street just a block away, and it's great!More
