“Long queues, broken attractions”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

Hi,

I went to Happy Vally on a Tuesday, 14/5-13, in hopes of no queues to enjoy the attractions without the extreme waiting. However, as we arrived around 11.30am, there were queues of about 80-120min on each rollercoaster as well as the more popular attractions. Two of the best attractions was closed and no warning or sign was outside to let us know before paying the 200RMB.

Overall, we did one ride and it was very good in fact. But waiting 2 hours for a 2 min ride is sick. It is a new park but they don't seem to be able to handle the queues at all. One train on each rollecoaster is like asking for long queues. But in fact, the park was almost empty and while walking around the park there was almost no people, pretty obvious since you needed to queue forever I guess.

It was far from well spent money, we even tried to ask for some refund for the broken attractions, but they just did not care so we left very disappointed.

I do not recommend anyone going there unless you just want to spend time in long queues.

“Good field trip for adults too! Rollercoasters!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

When I first went to Happy Valley, it was for a field trip for my high school students, but I ended up having a great time with the other teachers. I thought things might be... "china standard" but I was very surprised with it's cleanliness, and most of all, awesome roller coasters! It has 2 or 3 really intense coasters... the waits for these were long- so try to go on a weekday! There is a nice pizza hut, a random german beer brewery, and some of the little shops sell cans of tsingdao. It was a great day. I like the layout and themes in the park as well.

“Magic Mountain in China”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Took the kids and they really enjoyed it and want to go again. It also seems and feels safer than other attractions in Shanghai too. They are improving it too as Disney is coming to Shanggai soon!! Cost is 200 CNY per adult and if your child is above 1.2 metres then I think it is half price.

“Good place to take the kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

The place is located near to Metro line 9 and provides a shuttle bus to take you to the park. It has nice coasters and is overall a nice place to spend a weekend day with the kids. There is a Pizza Hut inside the park among other eateries. We purchased a year pass which may be difficult for you to do if you do not speak Mandarin. I would recommend taking a native speaker with you if you plan on doing this. Good value on the year pass.

“Nice amusement parc for a day out of town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

You can easily go there by subway (line 9), then with a free shuttle to the park (take the pedestrian bridge above the road. It takes about 45 min from town). The park itself is quite nice with enough to please youngest kids to extreme roller coaster fans. Some KFC and Pizza Hut around if you are not sure about the local snacks. Staff do not really speak English but are nice and friendly (souvenir shops sellers are a bit pushy though).
Went during a cold but sunny weekday and park was not so busy.
Overall we spent a good day of fun, if you want a day out of town for your kids this place is recommended.
