Great stay again at this 5 star hotel. Accommodations were spacious. Food had great variety and was delicious. Service was courteous. All in all a great stay and would certainly stay there again. The area is being updated so future stays will be even greater

First time in Shanghai and first time staying at the Sunrise on the Bund. This is a superb hotel. The facilities are top class, the rooms are clean and well appointed, the staff are attentive, responsive and courteous (I also need to learn to speak Mandarin) and entirely professional. The rooms are so quiet the glass looks as if it is double glazed (i am not an expert on this). I will be back here next time we visit Shanghai. As for Shanghai, this short trip has given an indication that there is so much more to explore. It is well run, clean and there is much to do. The people are generally courteous and accommodating. As stated above, knowing a bit of Mandarin would also help. The taxi drivers are very skilful and "fast" almost lost the remainder of all my hair with their "skilful driving" !

Room Tip: pay a bit more and get the Deluxe room. the added size is well worth just a few dollars more.

This hotel is well located for both a business and tourist base, very close to the river (bund).

I was only here the one night but first impressions were pleasant as they upgraded me to an executive room and the room was large and well appointed.

Everything was clean and tidy, the bed was a little firm but comfortable. Team and coffee making facilities were in room.

Got a surprise the next morning when a guy came absailing down the front of my room cleaning windows (I was on the 19th floor) so tate provided a moment of light entertainment, thankfully I was fully clothed at the time :-)

Overall, it's a nice hotel and wasn't very expensive, I'd happily use it again.

I was only there the one night so I didn't use any other facilities at the hotel.

Room Tip: The executive room was very nice, ask for an upgrade.

I stayed at the Sunrise for 3 nights, and overall, I had a pleasurable stay here. The location is perhaps not the best as it's still a bit of a trek away from the bund, but there are some interesting streets to explore within the vicinity. The room was a little on the small side for its star(age) but it was very comfortable, and the bathroom, with its heated toilet, was excellent. The breakfast in the main restaurant was disappointing with regards to choice and quality, however this is the only criticism I would make. Although this is a very good hotel, it is doubtful that I would stay here again, and opt for one that is much nearer to the French Concession, or, actually on the Bund!

Stayed here as part of a Balesworldwide tour. Decor was new and modern, room comfortable, good bathroom, but stained carpet. Not on the Bund as other reviewers have pointed out - about a 15 minute walk. Supermarket for water etc just out of the hotel reception, turn right and across the road. Didn't try the main restaurant but snack service in the main lobby was fine. Swimming pool received rave reviews from fellow travellers!

I stayed at the hotel for two separate stays of three days and thought it was fabulous. The location was quiet but easy to walk or taxi downtown and only one block away from the river. Around the area was lots of small back streets to explore with local food markets and shops tucked away to explore.

The standard room I stayed in for my first stay was compact but extremely comfortable with a fantastic bathroom. I could lie in bed and see the Pearl TV Tower through the window. On my second stay I was upgraded to a much larger suite which was amazing with an even more spacious bathroom. I loved the automatic, heated toilet seats.

The breakfast each morning catered for every diet and the fresh juice and salads were perfect for me. I used the pool, sauna and steam room before having a massage and the facilities were better than any Australian hotel I have stayed in.

The staff speak english and are extremely helpful and I forgot to mention the beds are western style so soft and comfortable.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai, it's great value for money.

This is a decent hotel and they certainly try. The gym is quite good as is the pool. The internet is not very fast, their English language skills quite limited, and it's not 'on the Bund' but rather about a 15 minute walk from the Bund. The room service menu is very limited (especially if you're a vegetarian). I liked my room and it was good value. overall

Room Tip: I had 801 - mini suite with large windows and great views.
