Firstly, the rooms are AMAZING. Just gorgeous. They are very spacious, well presented, clean and comfortable. The bed was HUGE and I had a good night sleep, as it seems to be the norm in asia though its on the firmer side. My only negative experience was that the pool requires you to wear a swim cap to use it. Who brings a swimming cap on holidays? Its a hotel swimming pool in an expensive hotel for goodness sake not an olympic pool, I found this very strange and it ruined my plans of relaxing in the pool. The breakfast was plentiful and I had room service which was pretty tasty. I asked for a later checkout on the last day and they let me check out at 1pm, no charge which was fantastic. Overall I recommend this hotel.

The Wyndham is a beautiful Hotel. The rooms have one wall of windows looking over Shanghai and the beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are to die for - Deep bath with TV at your feet and choice of handheld shower head in the shower or huge dinner plate fixed. Great selection at breakfast, helpful staff!

Room Tip: We had twin share and no complaints and the rest of our group also loved the Wyndham

We stayed at the Wyndham Bund two nights, and of all the hotels we stayed in whilst in China, this was by far the best. The bed is enormous, the room spacious and the bathroom is wonderful. The shower and toilet are side by side, yet separate - they both have doors. Not to leave out the bathtub which even has a built in television - you can lay in the bath and enjoy the television. As we were on a guided tour, we didn't venture far from the hotel, however, our room on 15th floor overlooked a local hospital and freeway. Even though we were close to the freeway, there was no outside noises to be heard. The curtains and blinds are even able to be operated by remote control. Breakfast was great, with a variety of western and Asian foods to select from. Nothing was a problem for the waiters as they would clean off the tables once they were vacated. The only issue we had was with ordering drinks in the bar. The bar staff understand very little English and only seem to be able to make one cocktail - if you drink beer then you will be okay. Highly recommended hotel for a great nights sleep - and if you have a few hundred thousand dollars you can even buy jade!

Room Tip: Request a room on a higher floor so that you can enjoy the view and escape the street noise.

This Hotel stay was part of a tour which we did of China Sept. 2013. The rooms were very large with a lovely view of Shanghai however some rooms overlook a very run down area. The location was not great and it was a long drive in our tour bus to arrive anywhere due to traffic.
The buffet breakfast was very good and varied we stayed four nights and enjoyed the luxury of our beautifully appointed bathroom with large bath tub at the end of a long days sight seeing.

Room Tip: Request a room on a higher floor to avoid noise from traffic.

The Wyndham is located at the Eastern Zone of Shanghai and a good distance from the Bund and shopping district. While it would be great to be able to walk to the main city sites a Taxi would be the choice of transport, although you can take a bus (the bus stop several blocks from the hotel) but you run the risk of getting lost if you don't speak passable Mandarin as English is not readily understood by the locals.
The hotel itself is modern and fits well as a 4 star hotel by Australian standards. Rooms a fresh, large and well appointed. Breakfast is plentiful and well represented by Western and Asian dishes.

The hotel caters for tour groups so if you prefer a quiet relaxed breakfast you will need to pick you time.

The hotel is set in an area surrounded by older housing and shops which are progressively being knocked down for newer high rise development.

While the older housing and shops still remain, it is a good time to wander around the streets and soak up the old Shanghai. Within a few blocks your experiences will range from street markets with various produce (live and fresh), food stalls, small supermarkets and local work shops. Soon it will all be gone but replace with improved living conditions for the locals.

Very good hotel and our room was nice on the 19th floor but over the top for my liking and taste. One plus on the other hotels we had stayed in was that an iron was provided but on the minus side no coffee sachets (these were provided on daily request though). Breakfast buffet good but not the best of the three hotels in which we stayed in China (Loong Palace in Beijing is the one to beat).
TV in the wall to view whilst in the bath was a bit of an over-kill for me. Our room was set in the corner of the 19th floor and there was a lot of unused space and there fore a lot of unnecessary space to cool (excessive use of electricity). TV reception for the BBC channel was bad.
FREE WiFi in room was an absolute bonus.
The view included the slums and the river and the magnificent bridge structure almost adjacent.
There is a pool but bathing caps for both men and women are compulsory...!! No cap - no swim..!

It is far from the city centre or tourist area. It takes 20 minutes’ walk or taxi to the underground. If you do not speak Mandarin, taking a taxi back may be a problem.
The hotel is facing the famous Huangpu River besides a high rise bridge. If you are on low floors, the bridge can be quite close to you. The rooms facing the river have a beautiful view. Some road noise can be heard day and night.
Buffet breakfast is included and it has a lot of varieties, especially Chinese. The Chinese restaurant cooks Hong Kong style, food good but expensive, especially tea.
Rooms are good size, the curtain is remotely controlled. TV is big but I could not find any high definition channel. The bathroom is spacious, nicely decorated with a TV above the bath tub. The toilet flush pressure is a bit low. The shower head holder is broken. The hair dryer is a problem. When turned on, it burned the electrical fuss of my room. I was left in the dark without air condition.
The manager is attentive and eager to know your concerns.

Room Tip: high floors facing the river
