I stayed for 1 night at the Modena Putuo, which I have booked the room through Wotif under their promotion "take 5" which came with free room upgrade, internet, 1 breakfast, 2 soft drinks and late check out at 3pm. These were what had happened:
(1) The front office told me my package was without breakfast even before they had checked the details, and only after my reminder, they then realized their mistake. But anyway, the breakfast was nothing nice;
(2) I did not manage to get my 2 free drinks, since they did not send it over after several reminders;
(3) I was being locked out of my room when I came back at 2.15pm the next day, which I am supposed to get a late check out at 3pm. Worst to worst, the front office lady told me that the latest time they could extend the late check out was at 2pm and showed me the "black face" when I told her mine was at 3pm.
(4) At check out, another front office lady printed an invoice and asked me for payment. When I told her that mine was fully paid through Wotif, she said that she would check.
(5) At the end, there was no smile and no thank you from the front office ladies!
Other than the bad services of the front office staff, the hotel is clean and nice. The location is at walking distance to the metro station but you may need to change if you are going to the tourism spots.
I am disappointed with such services especially since this hotel belongs to Fraser Property. Really could be better.......

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. I was amazed by its brand-new, modern and hi-tech interior, friendly and helpful staff and comfortable facilities. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't accept USD as a deposit and didn't have currency exchange. The hotel is 5-minutes' walk from subway station Langao Road, Line 7. it is very convinient to get to the city centre.

i've recently stayed at Modena Putuo and i can say that it is excellent. Apartments are very modern, comfortable and staff is very friendly.
I've made the reservations at the hotels' website but it all went wrong since the reservation mysteriously went to another hotel of the chain.. But staff solved the problem after some discussion (they don't speak very good english).
The hotel is not very central but metro is very near and taxis are really cheap in shanghai!

The modern and fully equpped rooms are very spacious with bathroom, kitchenette and living area on the ground floor and the bedroom area with a working desk upstairs. Convinent is also the small balcony, unfortunately without any sitting accomodation. Although the hotel is situated in a rather quiet area just outside downtown the thin walls might let you be disturbed by your neighbours at times.

A plus is the metro station just accross the road!
Good for a long term stay with very reasonable rates. For short term guests the breakfast might be somehow disappointing and you rather prepare your own!

And for business travellers, the complimentary high-speed internet access is indeed high-speed. And for all travellers without own laptop, in the hotel lobby there are two macs availabel for your convenience.

We just stayed there for 2 nights and we absolutely didn't regret it.
The hotel is brand new and so the rooms are. The rooms are furnished in a very modern style, offer enough space and are spotlessly clean.

The hotel is situated a little bit out of the center of Shanghai, but this absolutely doesn't matter as the metro is situated just opposite the hotel. With changing lines once you will reach the center in about 10-15min which is fabulous. But also taxis are very cheap, so don't worry about transportation.

As the hotel is new, it is basically lacking in facilities like a restaurant, recreation, etc.

Also breakfast was really poor, so I would recommend to grab breakfast when you are downtown!

Overall the hotel was great, but be prepared that you will need to eat out of the hotel.
