I brought a guest to stay at the Jumeirah Himalayas hotel over the October Holiday and the experience was AMAZING! The service level was excellent and they were ready to assist us with anything we needed. The lobby is one of the most beautiful in Shanghai and although it is a modern building, it still feels like it's historic with all the decoration and artwork displayed. We had dinner in the Grill Room and one of the dishes we ordered, the Braised Beef Short Rib, was completely beyond delicious and was a perfect portion. All the sides we ordered were just as great and the presentation was lovely. My guest was completely blown away by the experience there and I know I will definitely be bring guest there in the future. Simply Amazing!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view onto the atrium in the center. It's very beautiful and serenity like...

Stayed 2 nights, and was at Intercontinental Pudong the 2 earlier nights. Comparing both, I presume the latter is closer to the bund, but Jumeirah is right in front of Shanghai Expo, great if you are going there or in Shanghai for business with morning pick ups.

Jumeirah seems to offer a better deal, in terms of luxury accommodations. Intercontinental seems to have better breakfast.

Yes, the beds at Jumeirah are very good and cosy. Showers are great with strong water pressure. Enjoyed it.

Room Tip: If you get a room on the opporsite side of the elevator, you can end up walking quite a bit to your...

I was delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you were pleased with the service and facilities at the property. I note your comment about the breakfast, and wonder if you might be able to let me know of the type of items you would like to see for breakfast, but which we did not serve ( john.roberts@jumeirah.com ). I would be happy to review.

We sincerely look forward to welcoming you back, hopefully in the near future.

Stayed here for a few days on business. I got upgraded to a larger room which was nice. The decor, furnishing and facilities in the room were excellent.

Fantastic pool area, nice bar and breakfast downstairs.

The only negative was the quality of room service food, which was quite ordinary. The food unfortunately was no where near the quality expected of such an otherwise great hotel.

Nice safe and quiet area outside, with a vast range of restaurants and shops just across the road.

Shanghai dim sum, on the ground level of the high-rise office building nearby is also worth a visit for lunch.

Stayed 2 nights this week. Fabulous hotel. Large bedrooms. Fabulous bathrooms and the shower.....!!!!! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!

Restaurants were superb too.

I was speaking at a workshop and the meeting staff couldn't do enough to help. Meeting rooms had windows too - always a hep when you speaking to delegates with jet lag!!

Came here for the first time as a long-staying guest (8 days), and enjoyed every minute I was inside the Hotel. Its breathes a very nice relaxed atmosphere, dimmed lighting, a superb lighting display on the ceiling in the lobby, with live music in different styles in the hotels lobby bar.

The rooms are spacious enough, nice comfy beds ( I had 2 beds), complete amenities, even your own Illy Espresso machine which is fantastic, in the morning when you wake up (a coffee lover like me) fresh coffee!! The room is equipped with everything you might need or want for your stay, good Internet connection, HDMI, big flat screen TV, bathroom with separate bath tub, shower ..... all in excellent condition ..... in short, I loved my first stay at Jumeirah Himalayas Shanghai, and I will certainly be back for more ......... oh ,and breakfast was good !!! I was out a lot so I have not had the pleasure yet of trying the restaurants inside the hotel, but next time I will !!

Room Tip: I understand that some rooms do not have a bathtub. I was there on business and loved to relax in my...

Stayed here for a business meeting.

The hotel is nicely designed and full of nice touches in design and decor. Prices for food and drinks are at European levels.

My room was very large and the bed was terrific. Air con in the room was also good and quiet. So, the two things that normally keep me awake I'm hotels - uncomfortable beds and hot bedrooms - were no problem here and I slept really well.

The staff from the concierge and reception to the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful.

The elevators are noticeably slow. Certainly much slower than other modern hotels in Shanghai. Not realty a big problem but maybe under specified in the original design?

On the business side - the meeting room was good with good tea and coffee and a nice little selection of tempting treats. Aircon in the meetings rooms was a little noisy.
