Came here for the first time as a long-staying guest (8 days), and enjoyed every minute I was inside the Hotel. Its breathes a very nice relaxed atmosphere, dimmed lighting, a superb lighting display on the ceiling in the lobby, with live music in different styles in the hotels lobby bar.
The rooms are spacious enough, nice comfy beds ( I had 2 beds), complete amenities, even your own Illy Espresso machine which is fantastic, in the morning when you wake up (a coffee lover like me) fresh coffee!! The room is equipped with everything you might need or want for your stay, good Internet connection, HDMI, big flat screen TV, bathroom with separate bath tub, shower ..... all in excellent condition ..... in short, I loved my first stay at Jumeirah Himalayas Shanghai, and I will certainly be back for more ......... oh ,and breakfast was good !!! I was out a lot so I have not had the pleasure yet of trying the restaurants inside the hotel, but next time I will !!

Inspired by Chinese cultural elements and traditional feng shui principles, architect Arata Isozaki designed the landmark Himalayas Center, where Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel is located. A three-dimensional Urban Forest comprising dramatically sculpted columns defines the central section of the Himalayas Centre. It also carries an important loading capacity function and provides an arresting entrance to the Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel. Tien Shu Patterned Walls Wrapped around the base of the two towers presents a conceptual interpretation of ancient Chinese characters from the Tien Shu by Cang Jie. Special windows have also been custom made to subtly insert between the characters allowing light to flood the hotel interiors. The Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel tower is constructed in the form of the Yu Cong, an ancient Chinese ritual object formed from an outer square representing earth, and inner circle representing heaven. The cylindrical atrium stretches 14 levels through the centre of the tower. ... more less
