If you are in Shanghai and are interested in a hip, cleverly designed, and luxury hotel then stay here. We had a Bund view room with a shower that overlooked the river. The shower had a floor to ceiling window on the exterior of the building overlooking the river. The rooftop bar is awesome. Go here immediately upon arrival and take advantage of the happy hour drink specials. You will not be disappointed. We slept very well here. The room had all the modern luxuries and fun modern furniture. The bed was perfectly positioned so you could watch the river traffic all hours of the night. We have stayed in dozens of luxury hotels in many different countries but have never had such an expertly arranged buffet breakfast. They had everything from western breakfast to traditional chinese breakfast. Service was good and the view from our table was nice. The location was a little further down the bund than some of the others but still within a very short walking distance of everything. My only complaint is that one evening we wanted to go to the rooftop bar but were told it was closed for a private event. We were offered free drinks later that night but we already had dinner plans and when we returned, they were closed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in a comfortable, not stuffy, upbeat, clean, modern, and well staffed hotel.

Room Tip: Pay a little bit more for a Bund view room.

Just returned from a three night stay at the hotel. Room had a river view which provided a stunning night views of the buildings on the Bund and Pudong. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the Shanghai Ferry (2 RMB per crossing) to get to Pudong and the Shanghai World Financial Centre. The hotel is also a 15 minute walk from the Yu Gardens and the old town. Hotel facilities including gym and swimming pool complete with fine Bund and Pudong night views, are excellent. Breakfast buffet was varied and the staff were very helpful and desk staff provided advice on a range of guide-led day tours eg to Suzhoung. Free and fast wifi is available in the rooms. Ten minute taxi ride (17 RMB) to the Shanghai museum and the room key card has instructions on reverse to allow you to communicate the hotel's location to taxi drivers. Half an hour by taxi to Shanghai Pudong International airport (170 RMB) with no jams. Had dinner one night at the Char restaurant again with superb night views with excellent food and service with a wide choice of wines and an outdoor viewing gallery.

Room Tip: Go for room with a river view and as high as possible, to get the best night views. We had a corner...

much has been said in previous review: its an amazing hotel.
the views are breathtaking, from the rooms of course, but also worth having a drink at Char bar on top floor terrace.
Char restaurant is good but i found it a bit hefty on price, definitively luxury steakhouse level
staff was extremely dedicated and kind.

Room Tip: just a piece of advice, worth paying little extra for the river side rooms as there are construction...

4 days at hotel indigo and we did not want to leave.
The staff were amazing, Carrie at the front desk, Ivy at breakfast at the team in char. Thank you.
Readers. Look out for these people. They made our stay. Also Christine the quay manager was super helpful. The design of the hotel was beautiful, every detail. The art work around the hotel was inspiring and refreshing. The views. Everyone has mentioned. Stunning!
When in shanghai, do yourself a favor and stay at indigo. Great team. Great hotel.

I was stayed 3 nights last week at Indigo on the bund, overall the hotel is very nice, I like the interrier design of the hotel, it's very chic and mixed of some Chinese style, my huddy likes that. Their service is very good, the staff is nice and helpful. The buffet breakfast is good as they have a la carte manu plus some light food from their buffet bar.

The room is clean and well mantained (maybe the hotel is 2 years only) and the bed is comfortable and they provide four kinds of pillow for choosing.

I was arrived at 10:00am but they can still arrange a room for me. My room is partial river view, it's good enough as the river veiw suite is quite expensive for me (the upgrade fee more than US$100 per night after discount).

The location is not bad, it's just 'On The Bund", it's not a type of convenient location hotel, but the environment is peaceful.

This hotel is better than the other chain style brand name hotels, I would recommand to others!

Cheers!

We stayed there in October 2012 on Bund River View Room. Room size is decent, bathroom is amazingly big. The shower room which looks over the bund river is amazing, the size is big with a deep tub and a tv as well. There is also a separate bathroom. The room is decorated with the contemporary Asian arts. The gym is pretty big, the pool looks over the bund river. We love the library in level 6, you find mac desktops in each station free to use, lots of books and the big plus is the 2 huge massage chairs. It is a very relaxing place to chill out. The hotel itself has plenty of interesting artworks everywhere. Staff are friendly. We will stay there again. Can't get over the beautiful shower room.

Room Tip: Ask for Bund River View Room.

We had the most wonderful view from our beautiful room, right down the river to the Bund. It was wonderful to be out of the hustle and bussle of the Bund District and yet only a15minute walk right along the River esplanade to the Hotel.
The staff were fantastic and helpful in every way. The view from the bar on the 30th floor is not to be missed. It is a Terrace as well as indoor bar. Perfect lighting and ambience.
The artwork / sculptures in the hotel is local and very appealing.
The room in every respect was outstanding.
The pool too has superb views.

Room Tip: I imagine all the rooms have a beautiful view, but if not, aak for river view
