Remember to bargain, the streets are quite shaded, nice to spend a hot afternoon here. 1-2 hours at least.

First of all, I love the fact that they've kept these traditional lane houses intact. I remember when this was just a lane or two and it's ballooned into an entire block of clothes stores, art galleries, restaurants, etc. It's become a major tourist destination so be prepared to put up with crowds. Grab a seat at Commune for a cup of coffee and watch the crowds jostle. Fun place to take tourists.

i comeby this place often bringing guest who come to shanghai and for my self eat at dan cafe inside the place. for a coffee lover you must try the coffee there, they roast and grind themself and the food ( hokkaido japanese ) are amazing. the cafe are a bit small so avoid lunch time since most probably you have to wait for seat.
the tianzifang it self are great for art lover

A small area in the heart of the city. A labyrinth of little roads that make you feel miles away from Shanghai, in an european atmosphere surrounded by old buildings. It is not only a trap for tourists - here you can find tons of small shops - but also a meeting place for a cozy night! During the winter you can enjoy the festive environment while when it's hot outside you can appreciate an outside drink!
