Clean, Safe and with courteous staff.
Smaller room but clean and tastefully furnished.
Not one of the Big Chains but I'd stayed Shangrila, Sheraton and Intercontinental Hotel group and I couldnt fault this smaller Hotel. I wouldnt have a honeymoon here but for Business travel,
really what more do you need in a hotel.
Nice outdoor area with plants etc to Eat Breakfast in the Morning.

All this from $55 AUD a night including breakfast..................if only I could get accomodation like this in my own country.

Very fascinating hotel, and one of the most modern in Shanghai with its environmental-friendly profile and non-smoking policy. The smell inside is so much more fresh than in most other hotels. I find the location a bit off-site, and the level of English spoken by the receptionists as inadequate. Anyway, I believe L'otel is setting the standard for hotels in the future, and I encourage everyone to stay here instead of the other polluted and decaying hotels around town.

The hotel is located 10 mins walk from the South rail station. The hotel is pretty new. The room is small but offers everything u need. Wifi is not available at the room but wired internet is provided free of charge. The bathroom is small but features such as rain-forest shower represent a great value. Morning breakfast is so so but with only 4dollar more through the booking site also offers good value. service is good, they are happy to arrange a cab for u without extra charge. The cab driver told me that there are always cab ready to pick up guest from the hotel so u dont need to wait long for the cab.

Overall the stay is enjoyable and offers good value. recommended!

Good points:
Clean and quiet hotel. Modern fit out with a netrual pallet and soft lighting throughout the hotel and rooms. Beds were comfortable and clean. Surprisingly generous bathroom with a walk in shower and modern fixtures. Complimentary WiFi (lobby only) and use of internet at reception. LAN access is available from the rooms. Buffet breakfast is acceptable.

Other comments:
*No room service. If you are peckish when you get back to the hotel there is no meal service. There are some eateries within 5 mins walk each side of the hotel that serve local food if you are adventurous and willing to adjust your expectations.
*Location is a little remote for my liking. Nearest subway station is Shanghai South Station, which is located under a shopping centre. Nearest exit is on Metro #3 and then its about 10-15 min walk to the hotel. You can catch the Metro #1 train to the same station but you have to walk 5-10 mins to get to the platform that Metro #3 stops to get to the same exit.

Clean and tidy room. The rent is reasonable. The breakfast provided is good. But there is not much change of the food, almost the same menu everyday. The environment is quiet but a bit remote from the metro station, it takes around 15 minutes walk. Despite it provides shuttle transport to the metro, it is only available in the morning and on per request basis. It may only available once every hour if too few passengers. There are not much bus route available for traveling to places for sight seeing. Despite internet assess is available, it is slow and is LAN based, i.e. no Wifi. There are no other leisure facilities.

In summary, this hotel is good for accommdation with reasonable price. But not very convenient.

I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of March. The hotel is quite a ways from downtown Shanghai. The Metro stop is a brisk 15 minute walk. The hotel has a shuttle, it runs on the hour but only for a short period of time in the morning. When I'd come back at night, I'd grab a taxi... it's only 12 RMB to the hotel. (Just hand the driver a card from the hotel with the address in Chinese) There really isn't anything around the hotel, it's a bit dismal. My room was compact simply designed and very quiet. The Breakfast buffet was very good, though the breakfast room was freezing cold? Staff in general was helpful. The garden and patio are very lovely and relaxing.
