The Puli is a bit expensive, but probably worth it especially for business travelers not paying their own bill. The decoration is very nice both in the rooms and the common areas. Tina at the front desk was incredibly competent, and the location is just perfect, right in the middle of Puxi. I recommend the Puli both for a nice place to spend a few hours sipping drinks and a great place to stay in Shanghai.

Lovely lovely room, my stay here was OH so wonderful. The room was fantastic, we got upgraded to the grand room throughout our stay here, thank you so much Puli! though we booked 2 nights in a grand room and 2 nights in a deluxe room. Noted should always get at least the Grand room and above because of the sofa inside, had lovely moments lying on the sofa, taking in the scenery from the outside, especially in the night. I think Deluxe rooms do not come with a sofa. The room was very very spacious, bed was just divine! Super soft yet firm and the pillows were awesome, there's an extensive pillow menu where you could ask for even a Tempur. There were nice smelling bath salts, placed around the tub, for you to soak in. You could lie in the tub and look out at the scenery, and enjoy the peace while you see Busy Shanghai people rushing around. Rooms were very well kept, They look almost brand new still! The water in the shower could be adjusted to a very high temperature which was lovely due to the cold weather (you know how it is like when the water just ain't hot enough!) The toiletries provided were those of a Spa range, smells and feels great! Bed slippers were plush and soft, the best ever.

Extreme House keeping standards on the 12th floor, Requested for additional bottles of water and was promptly delivered to our room, and was delighted to know that they remembered our request and gave us additional bottles throughout our stay! The standard dropped a little when we got shifted down to another floor. Different crew manning different floors i guess.

Overall reception service was not bad, just not top notch expected from a 5 star hotel. We had to carry our own luggage from the hotel entrance to reception.

My only gripe, the flushing system in the toilet can be improved, ended up with a sore thumb.

Will only stay in Puli from now on during my trips to Shanghai!

Room Tip: Should get at least the Grand room!

I stayed at Puli hotel for a few days in Shanghai. The room is amazingly made of teak wood including cabinets. The bath, shower and toilet's to die for which has relaxing feel to it. Service is impecable. We asked for so many things for our Champangne and drinks and they just delivered swiftly. The bar by the way is free... including alcohol. it is strange that when you pick up the phone that they know who you are... hehe.

Now if you plan to relax at the pool and jacuzzi, it is a great idea. The facilities are so nice. The pool is indoor and the deck chairs are so comfortable that I won't be surprised if you fall asleep.

At the time we arrived in Shanghai, it was snowing and the lobby of the hotel has a fireplace just at the library. This is so important place to relax while we wait for cabs in the freezing weather. All in all, happy to stay here and will be coming back again.

This hotel is another class entirely, ultra modern luxury but with a chinese flavour. The pool/spa just have to be seen, it was so hard to leave. Really, a phenomenal place to stay if you can, would recommend to anyone. The cocktail lounge in the courtyard was our favourite place for a drink. The only aspect that could perhaps be improved was the breakfast which was a little pricey for what you got.

Dear Guest,
We were so happy to recieve your Trip Advisor review following your stay with us at The PuLi Hotel and Spa last September - thank you so much for your gracious comments and for taking the time to write them down.

We are very proud of our design concept - having such functionally designed spaces with Chinese flavours as you put it, ensures that we have a true resort feel throughout the property.
Our staff also tries to be guest centric without being obtrusive - that is also why we have such a high percentage of repeat business coming back to our hotel.

Our breakfast offerings both on the Continental and Amercian plan provide an extensive choice and if you opt for the American one you are also able to order additionally from the a la carte menu for the same price.

We look forward to welcoming you back hopefully soon!
