“Xintiandi!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

After being in China for more than 2 weeks, we really appreciated visiting a place where Europe, meets China in a very cosmopolitan way. We enjoyed the restored french style building and the taste of fusion food. I see many people complaining in travel forums, about how this is is not the real China. But for me, it is a MUST. It was a perfect place to go relax after a long days work and experience cafe style, bistro and bar/rest with great ambiance and beautiful people from all over the world.

“Historical site preserved for restaurants and retail . . .”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

Typical of any city, this is an old preserved area, updated with modern retail shops, restaurants and pubs. But, all good fun, with interesting architecture - buildings from the colonial era. Interestingly different from the rest of China, where old buildings tend to be characteristically Chinese and very old, the ones here have a European colonial feel.

“The former French Concession in Shanghai”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

Shanghai French Concession is located in Xiuhui and Luwan districts. It is the earliest, largest and most prosperous among the four French Concessions in China from 1849 until to 1946. With the politics, shopping and dining, the entertainment is guarantee here. The Shanghai French Concession is a must-see for tourists.

“The best place to stay.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

We are glad we picked to stay in this area. It is beautiful and full of old world charm. Boutiques, restaurants and lots of walking to appreciate this area. There is a wonderful French Patisserie that we ate breakfast at every day.

“Beautiful tree lined streets”

I just love the atmosphere of the beautiful tree lined streets. When you venture off the main streets there are amazing sites and interesting shops.
