“fresh and healthy fusion cuisine”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

one of the best places to have a light snack in Shanghai. the place is very classy and modern. i really like the general atmosphere of the place especially the outdoor seating where my friends and i stayed. the staff were very attentive and has a fairly good command of the English language which is always a welcome respite. we had hummus with small pita breads (wish it would've been bigger tho), fresh garden salad (very nice), and vietnamese spring rolls. prices are a bit on the above average but then again, this is expected in Shanghai. overall, you get your money's worth. i would definitely come back next time.

“Favorite Sunday morning respite”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

There are several Element Fresh sites around town but our favorite is located in downtown on Nanjing due to it's outdoor patio or large comfy corners inside during colder months that allow us to partake in people watching. No, not stalking, but just watching the world go by while you are enjoying good American and European faire. While relaxing with a fresh squeezed juice or smoothie and my favorite salmon and eggs platter we regularly watched a local Tai Chi group go through their motions, fans and all. I even went over to them on one occasion and was treated to an impromptu lesson on how to use a red fan all communicated in pantomime and smiles. Back to the restaurant; they have a wide variety and are know literally for the freshness of their food. We preferred to enjoy breakfast but they always had a large crowd for lunch and we visited for a 3 course/ 3 wines dinner several times. It is a great place to take family and expat friends looking for some western dishes if they have been traveling in Asia for awhile.
The pricing is not cheap but reasonable and the one downside for us was we found it to be a bit noisier in the evenings in general and sometimes they had the music cranked up - but were very receptive when we asked them to turn it down.

“Not just good salads”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

Element Fresh has good combination of Western hygiene and Eastern taste. Not 5 stars, because it's a bit expensive. But if you want to have a good, healthy meal, it's a good place to eat...
