Nice hotel with good standard, but not truly 4* if you ask me. I for instance never found the svimmingpool. As other reviews not it's quite close to a "freeway" which introduces quite a lot of traffic noise. The restaurant is quite good, but do not expect "European cusine"

We booked this hotel at booking.com mustly for the rate and We was not too shure about the location, but after exploring around for a while we notice how close it is from Old town and Yu Garden, just 5 minutes by walk. The room was big and decorated with good taste. The crew friendly and always with a smile for the guest. Breakfast was decent, but if you don't eat chinese for breakfast you may find it quite simple. In conclution: good hotel for the money and I will stay again here.

This hotel is located at a big interception and between the metro line 10 stations LaoXiMen and YuYuan, which represents a direct connection to HongQiao Airport and HongQiao Railway Station. It is a 10 minutes walk to Yu Garden and a rather good place to catch a taxi. There is an ATM right outside the hotel. The breakfast is nothing special but the rooms are outstanding. I have to say that we were upgraded so I have no idea what the standard rooms are like. Our room was new, equipped with a huge bathroom including a tub and a shower. The bed is soft and very comfortable. One negative aspect is the slow WIFI connection. Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely come back to Yun's Paradise.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on an upper floor.

My room was all right, spacious and modern with a couple small couches and a little dining table, but some noticeable stains on the carpet. At night the front looks like a cheesy Vegas style hotel. :) The usual complimentary toiletries were available - shampoo, toothbrush, etc. You have to request additional toilet paper if you need it but that is apparently typical for China, this was the case for every hotel we stayed at. No wifi in the room, only wifi in the lobby. Breakfast was pretty good. My shower didn't drain well, I called the front desk to have them fix it but it didn't seem to get fixed.

Convenient to a mall across the street, and a market area down the street, where you can get cheap souvenirs and snack on Turkish ice cream and soup dumplings. Also close to Yu Yuan Garden.

The hotel was very hard to find with the directions I had. But, when we finally made it there it was a great hotel. There was free wifi in the lobby and a nice store to buy food & drinks. Very close to a nice market area and many other cool things to see. I would recommend this hotel.

Very good location, 5 mins walk to subway station. Hotel rooms are clean and big. The only problem is lack of convenience store near by, so you will need to get all your necessities before heading back to the hotel at night.

After a tiring trip, we checked into Yun's Paradise Hotel.
From the outside, it looked fine, but quickly ruined by careless staff and a deposit of 1200RMB which we were completely unaware of (and did not write on the website).
We came to an agreement and paid the hotel in cash, but the next day, another receptionist chased us down and wanted deposit, deposit deposit. We almost didn't manage to leave the hotel to explore. When we came back that evening, they have locked us out of the room, and had to go down to the reception to open our room. A nice touch there.

The room had a window, but guess what? It is covered up so you do not get to see the light of the day. It felt suffocating not having windows. It was really dim as well, so you cannot read anything in the night time.

The best part to top it all off is that there is no soundproofing whatsoever, so you can hear your neighbor talk on the phone (can hear word by word), shower, toilet flushing, closing door, everything, absolutely everything.

There is nothing near by, so expect to take a taxi everywhere.

We asked about the big bus tour and originally they told us 300 RMB per person. When we showed disinterest, suddenly they presented us another option for 100. Instead of choosing to buy the tickets at the concierge, we went and found a bus stop, and found another bus company which did almost the same route, for .....30 yuan. Amazing.

Breakfast was an experience I will never forget.

since the hotel includes only 1 person's breakfast, the other must pay. A lady came up to us about 10 !! times to make sure that we will pay. It made our breakfast miserable. It is one thing to let us know, but to constantly interrupt someone is just disgusting. It's like they thought that we would eat and run away. And even if we did, the hotel would have charged us anyway!!

9am sharp they cleaned out everything. They even TURNED OFF the lights so we would leave quickly.

Needless to say even though we had one more day in Shanghai, we did not extend our stay here.
