“A great place to shop!”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

This is a great street for shopping. The iAPM Mall, a sister mall of IFC in Pudong, has a very cool interior and lots of high end shops. On the street is also the flagship Uniqlo store which is quite affordable. This is a fun street to go up and down in. The street is lined with well known shops, leafy trees and has lots of activity.

“Highly commerical, great for shopping”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

We decided to come here on a rainy day, as there was little else to do. We were pleasantly surprised by the K11 art mall, which is a concept mall that seeks to promote art and budding young artists by having works strewn all over the mall, meaning you get to shop and admire some art at the same time. The basement is also a dedicated art space, where exhibitions change regularly. There were also plenty of other shopping outlets down the street, but we didn't manage to cover much because we were too comfortably ensconced in the Cova cafe while it rained heavily outside. A pleasant experience overall, although it might get repetitive since the shops down the road were mostly international brands found everywhere else in the world anyway.

“busy commercial street full of high end shops”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Louis Vuitton, Coach, Burberry - all of them are located on this high end street. Makes for a nice place to people watch, and is also lined with some very delicious (and actually affordable) restaurants.

“Shop, shop, shop!”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Our time in Shanghai was spent walking. We stayed on the Bund and walked everywhere for five days. For incredible shopping, there is no better place than Huaihai Road. The place had everything you could want, and more.

“nice atmosphere but commercial as anywhere”
Reviewed June 13, 2013

The main difference between Huaihai lu and other tourist shopping area's is the fact that it is more narrow and has those typical old Shanghai trees that cover the whole street.
The shops and shopping malls on the other hand are those Western style and brands like any other shopping area in Shanghai.
And allthough some people here give a different impression: it is still a typical tourist area with Xintiandi next to it.
Still it always brings a smile on my face when I drive into it: those lovely trees and those better than average restaurants in the streets around it.
You are visiting Shanghai: Then definitely have a look here if you pick out a day of shopping and strolling.
