Description: When stepping in a bistrot, client follow the chef’s inspiration, and eventually what he found at the wet market few hours before. The menu is usually small, and follows the seanonal products. At Franck, the Menu du jour changes almost daily. Timeless classical parisian bistro fares hasn’t changed, since grand-mother's time. The Starters are to be shared, with generous portions, just like a diner at home. Guests love the casual service, helping themselves to the Terrine de campagne, cold cuts or fresh oysters.

Located in a restored historic part of Shanghai, which gives FRANCK the old world french feel. The space is cozy and warm, and the food is authentic giving you a nice and relaxing feel. The staff are very knowledgable, and the menu is written on a board on a easel that is moved from table to table. Charcuterie board with homemade bread, and tomato and mozzeralla salad appetizers were excellent and shared by four. For entrees, Steak and roasted chicken were perfectly cooked and also shared along with ther chocloate mousse (definitely the winner) and creme bulee.
Its pricey, so company expense accounts would be helpful.

Quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Shanghai, FRANCK, provided us with an exceptional respite from a busy day filled with sightseeing, shopping and meandering. I had a excellent terrine followed by a rack of lamb. We shared a exquisite mouse and impressive cheese plate. We went fully aware of the price so were not shocked, disappointed or otherwise put off by the costs. If you are looking for a charming evening filled with great food, good wine and (hopefully) engaging conversation then I highly recommend FRANCK

A lot of reviews have already been written about what a gem Franck Is in Shanghai. I was to fortunate to joint friends for dinner there a week ago and would agree with most of the positive reviews. I would only add though, that you need ask about the prime cut for 2 to make sure it is not sinewy, which was in our case.

Also be aware of their rather high corkage charge as their have their in- house wine store.

On the other hand, their veal cutlet chalkboard special was the softest, tastiest, absolutely the best I've ever had; even when compared to 3 star establishments in Paris. Just the right size. Catch it while they still serve it!

Definitely recommend!

We dined here yesterday evening, my 2nd night in Shanghai - I was told it took weeks to secure the booking, and we werenot disappointed. The starters were generous and well presented. We opted for Lamb, Beef (for 2), and sweetbreads for our mains - the lamb and beef both perfectly cooked and delicious. This high standard continued onto desserts. Overall, we all loved our meal and would highly recommend Franck. And not overly expensive.

Franck Restaurant is always booked out... which is a good sign. in Wukan Rd the old Ferguson Lane in bygone areas... it's in a beautiful part of town...the french concession. The menu is french, the waiters walk you through it... in cute english, they have a good selection of wines and cheese... if you are on holidays in Shanghai and want a taste of home ...this is it.
