“AMAZING”
Reviewed May 23, 2014

I was able to stay at Uprising for only one night since I was with Feejee Experience but it was the perfect paradise! The rooms were very spacious and comfortable with a walk out right onto the beach. The outdoor shower felt luxurious and there was a great selection for food. I was able to get a very inexpensive massage right next to the beach which was amazing! Drink specials are great and the nightlife was fun. Would definitely stay here again even though it is not close to town.

We and another couple stayed at Uprising for 5 nights after a week on a scuba live aboard boat. The resort is nicely maintained, quiet, and offers a nice beach and pool. The on-site restaurant is your only choice unless you want to walk (15 minutes) or taxi ($F4) into the village. The restaurant food is good and service is good too. The personnel in the resort work hard to accommodate the needs of the guests. There was a problem with the reservation for the other couple we were traveling with - we were both supposed to have beachfront villas (there are only 4), and they were put into a non-beachfront one. Management did work hard to move them two days later and offer them some $$ to make up for the blunder. Kudos to Manager James for taking charge of the problem, accepting accountability, and insuring thar our friends felt they received fair treatment. We had a problem with our transport to the airport, arranged by our travel agent, and the front desk woman worked hard to resolve it for us.But not for her, we would have certainly missed our flight out of Nadi the night we left. Our air conditioner didn't work real well, but we managed. The outdoor private showers in the villas are a nice touch.

Bula Trvelor,

I trust you guys and Mr and Mrs Chiaramida have arrived safely at home after you week at the Uprising.

It is always a pleasure to receive positive feedback and we are pleased that you took a moment to give us some honest feedback. It is our personal responsibility at the Uprising to ensure that all our guests are able to enjoy their stay and be provided with the experience that they expect.

You are indeed correct that there are a number of other options for dining in the Pacific Harbour area and I personally believe this only adds value to the Uprising as a destination. I am pleased to read though that our Food and Beverage team were well received by you and they will be receiving a copy of your feedback! Vinaka!

We hope to see you all back at the Uprising again on another dive trip maybe sometime in the not so distant future. Please make a point to contact me prior so that we can ensure that do even better job next time around! :)

Kind regards to yourselves, Joseph and Rebecca!

We had a ball at Uprising, Tale and Jane were brilliant, making us feel welcome and part of the crew from the moment we stepped through the door. Our accommodation was very very good, we spent 2 nights in a beach front Villa which was the most modern out of all the accom we stayed in on our trip. The food was very good and Reggi in the restaurant and bar was excellent and could teach some other resorts a thing or two about customer service.

Definitely recommended, we will be back for sure.

Stayed at the dorms had spent a night there for my aunt’s wedding. I thought it was pretty low-priced, spotless and spacey. Love the outdoor hot shower! Breakfast was simple but nice making good use of the local fruits, still wishing I has some of that cassava pancakes….love the pretty beach and pool. will be going there again for sure.

Bula 001StephyBaby,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience at the Uprising.

I believe that you stayed in the Mini Dorm which is proving more popular by the day with our alternate travellers. The outdoor showers are always a winner!

We hope to see you back at the Uprising soon so that you can try the cassava pancakes that you missed out on this time around. Please check out our Facebook page for more details on what's happening at the Uprising so that you can choose the perfect time to return. Our music festival on November 8th is a good start :)

Once again, thank you and take care.

First we came here for one night on the Feejee Experience tour. We were just struck by how big and beautyful our bungalow was. In our group we had the chance to choose lots of the dishes, some of them really good, others not. Later we stuck with the dish of the day wich was always delicious. Also exciting are the desserts of the day - the perfect reason to feast!
After a disappointing stay in another place we changed booking and came back to Uprising for four more nights. First we got a beachfront bungalow, but as they have not yet been renovated at this time, we asked if we could get the room of our last stay. A Feejee Experience guide was really nice and switched room with us. Super uncomplicated handling!
The beach is lovely and invites you to sit close and enjoy a drink. Although I knew the waiters often forgot the ordered drinks I sometimes challenged them by ordering surprise drinks and they really liked to be creative and made me delicious cocktails.
A highlight is the pool area. Although we never used it, the area was so cozy and nice we spent hours there reading. Not to be missed for the perfect relaxing day is a massage. Costs extra, but moderate.
The broad bungalow had a kitchenette, double and single bed, living room area, an open shower, a seperate toilet and a frontside veranda where we enjoyed the nights by a bottle of wine from the bar. In this bungalow I learned a lesson: hide unpeeled bananas from geckos.
The staff is very friendly and helpful but somtimes a bit clumsy. We felt really relaxed there and for us, it was the best place to stay on Viti Levu.

Bula ConnyGammi,

Thank you for your review and we trust your travels are going well. Always a pleasure to receive some positive and constructive feedback and your points have been noted.

I am glad you enjoyed our Bure's and you are right, you cannot leave any uncovered food about or the gecko's will get to it! We are in the tropics and these little guys sneak in from everywhere. The good news is mosquitoes are also a part of their diets so I hope that they managed to control this for you!

Our Beach Bar is a great spot to enjoy a cocktail or two and our bar boys are always keen to try out new mixes. You must return soon as coming up from 01st June, the Beach Bar will become home to our "Sounds on Sunday" Day Club which we are sure you would enjoy.

Safe travels and hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!

We stayed 5 days at this fantastic place in a hut near to the beach. The hut was spacious for a family on 4. There was no aircon in the hut but that was not a problem because of the nice wind. Just open the windows The shower was behind the hut and had no roof. To take a shower and look at the stars in the night was fantastic. There are a nice sandy beach but the water is a bit muddy. The pool is not that big but its okay if not to many use it. The breakfast is boring after 5 days but the dishes in the restaurant is- wow ! Rarely we had so god food at a hotel. There is thai, india and fiji cosine and its just tastes fantastic. Later we stayed at at international resort and they just could´nt reach the standard of Upprisings cousine . I will also note that the price is fair of the goods the resort sells.

Room Tip: Go for the hut at the beach

Bula Per F,

A big Vinaka for taking a moment to share your recent experience at the Uprising.

You would be pleased to know that as of 01st April, through feedback similar to yours, we have made improvements to our breakfast buffet to now include cooked items. This now gives our guests more variety and options. I am glad to read that our chefs made up for any breakfast shortfalls with their regular menus.

I can only assume that your stay was either just after or during the recent heavy rains and floods that we experienced here in Pacific Harbour. Uprising is surrounded by a number of large rivers and streams and during such heavy rains, this can cause the water close to the shore line to turn muddy as the river pushes the excess rainfall and heavy debris out to sea. I am happy to say that our beach front is back to its usual best and I just posted a picture on our Facebook page (Uprising Fiji) that hopefully you can see :)

Per F, we hope to see you back at the Uprising and we can promise our Beachfront Bure's will be kept just the way you liked it! Vinaka!

Kind regards,

James Pridgeon
