This was beautiful room on a beautiful beach. We will be back! We loved the resort and the peace and quiet of the beach setting.

A few minor notes about our stay:

The bathroom is outside the room which is not much of problem but if you get up in the middle of the night you have to leave your room. It didn't happen to us but you should take your key because you could lock yourself out.

The Shower is an outdoor which we LOVED. Plenty of room with a covered seat and lots of plants. Plenty of hot water.

The curtains were stained and the bath towels very meager. The beach towels should be in the room but instead you had to go to the front desk to get them.

The grounds were very nice and each bure had beach chairs. Unfortunately the cushions for the beach chairs were not all there.

There is a dormitory and hostel on the grounds and you will share the common facilities with those guests as well. Not a big deal but....

Breakfast is good for continental...

Room is big with lots of room to move around. There is a safe but it is not secured so it can be easily carried away.

The staff was VERY nice but as others noted service can be a bit slow.

Dive shops will pick you up from the lobby. Make sure you confirm.

Bula Vinaka Ksiddel and thank you for taking time to review your recent stay with us here at Uprising. We have taken note of the good points you raised and have also noted the not so enjoyable aspects of your stay. We are currently changing all curtains within the rooms and this is to be completed within the next 2 weeks, along with cushions for the pool side furniture. I can confirm that these issues are being taking seriously as we move forward. We pride ourselves in having a great team of friendly people, and continuous improvements in service is something equally as important. We would love to have you back with us soon also, and we do sincerely look forward to hearing from you soon. On behalf of everyone at Uprising, vinaka vakalevu and best regards.

As a backpacker I stayed in the dormitory, which is of excellent quality, very tidy and nice. Most of the visitors in the dorm were divers and although there was around 20 beds, it was quiet and safe in there. The complimentary breakfast was great with fresh fruits etc. All the other meals were quite pricey, but you can walk into the nearby town for nice and cheaper dinner. The staff messed up with my diving bookings and tried to charge us extra for the laundry, but they were sorted out finally (I got my dives and payed no extra). Surroundings in the resort are really beautifully built up, with lots of jungle-type plants and natural materials, and the atmosphere is suitable for relaxing and enjoying life on the pool side. Beach was not anything special, but OK. They charge unthinkable sums for the snorkeling gear, so maybe bring your own. In overall, good value for backpackers because you get to enjoy the great resort surroundings without paying too much.

Room Tip: If you stay in the dormitory, ask for a key for a locker when you arrive.

I loved the bure accommodation set in lush gardens and beachfront and the outdoor shower was divine. The restaurant was a pleasant and relaxed place to be and the food was good too.The staff were consistently friendly and helpful and made the whole experience easy. The students loved it! I was really sad to leave. Vinaka :-)

The main attraction of this beach resort is its amazing beach which for all purposes is private and constantly patrolled by hotel staff. The food is quite good and the prices of food and drink is quite reasonable. Overall loved my stay here

I was very impressed at the standard of accommodation upon arriving at Uprising, but over the next 4 days of my stay became more and more disillusioned with the resort. In short, I ended up feeling like a very demanding customer, purely because the service was consistently terrible. This really related to the restaurant, in which I'd generally sit 15 minutes before any staff took notice, place my drinks order (generally water or coke - nothing complicated) which inexplicably took another 15 minutes to materialise, after which I'd attempt to place a food order. Having spent the previous month in Tonga, I was well acquainted with 'island time' and this wasn't it. This was just poor service - often there'd be only one other table of guests in the restaurant at the time.

Aside from the slow service, the other regrettable issue was the menu, or rather the staff's interpretation of it. In the menu, the components of each dish are listed. When such a list is present, it's not unreasonable to think that is what will appear on your plate. This is generally not the case, and the kitchen happily omit some ingredients and add others. For instance, the tomato in a salad I ordered was bizarrely substituted for... pepperoni. The culmination of this was that, to receive a meal resembling the one that I ordered, I had to dictate the ingredients to the staff and request no deviation from the list. Having said that, once this system was in place, the food was delicious.

A final few issues were the lack of beach towels available from reception EVERY morning, having to pay for the pool table (and wifi), and the lack of a phone in the villa.

To end on some positives, as mentioned the villas are absolutely beautiful, and the resort is in a reasonably good location for diving in Beqa lagoon... but I won't be returning in a hurry.

Bula Vinaka Octeeth, and thank you for reviewing your recent stay here with us at Uprising. We have taken strong note of the enjoyable points noted, and also the not so enjoyable points experienced. We regret to have fallen short on so many points here and we do not wish or promote this experience at any time. The lack of attention and timing during service being one of these short comings is regretted. Our team is our priority and make the experience of Uprising an enjoyable one. I do sincerely regret here once again, that we have fallen short. Regarding the menu awareness and ability to provide assistance has been noted. Recently the resort has launched a new menu, and onsite menu training has been ongoing and continuous with the goal of ensuring that all queries regarding our menus can be answered and menu items are standard each and every time. Regarding the pool tables and Wifi internet, you are correct in saying that these services do incur a charge, and we also regret here that this did not meet your expectations. Once again Octeeth, thank you for the points brought to our attention. We do sincerely hope that one day we can have you back with us to overcome our shortfalls and deliver a much better holiday experience. Until then, vinaka vakalevu and safe travels from everyone at Uprising.

My wife and I spent a fantastic 7 nights at the Uprising Beach Resort. This resort is very central to a lot of activities that can be organised through the reception. The staff are wonderful, genuinely friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The restaurant made a variety of different theme meals each night and the normal menu meals are very affordable. Local drinks are cheap, although the cocktails were fantastic but expensive. The atmosphere is very authentic with the bure's situated amongst native trees and plants with a nice fresh water pool situated next to the restaurant. The beach is clean and long, so you can swim away from others if that's what you want.

Room Tip: Stay in one of the beach front bure's with outside shower. They are right on the beach and the s...
