“It's your island- Hospitality at its finest.”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

From the exciting first time you step onto the island, to the final time you look back and see it fade on the horizon, Toberua will make your vacation memorable. I won't spoil it for you by going into too much detail, but the little things that the staff do for the guests really do make the island feel like it's yours. Every single staff member takes pride in their work and demonstrates it by their hospitality and going above and beyond. I have already recommended it to anyone who will listen! My only caveat is that if you go during school holidays, children may be loud, but the staff do their best to ensure comfort of all guests.

Toberuas greatest asset are the amazing staff - many of whom have worked there for a long time. Nothing is too much trouble and they truly want you to enjoy you holiday.
In 8 days we had nothing but fabulous food and not one single menu item repeated (although we would have like some the chance to eat some things more!) and each offering for lunch & dinner was delightfully fresh & flavoursome with quite a bit of traditional style food offered from the Fijian chef.
Bures are spacious and comfortably appointed although a little more storage space for unpacking would be useful. Beds were comfortable & linens & towels of good quality.
The daily snorkelling trips were varied and offered different highlights at each location. Moses reef fantastic for soft corals & sandbar for amazing fish life.
DH undertook his PADI certificate on Toberua - guided & instructed by their in house team of professionals. He absolutely loved his final dive at Sacred Reef once he had completed the course.
With a comfortable mix of couples, families & honeymooners, Toberua is quite a social little place and we met some lovely people during our stay. Kids are able to run free and create their own fun. Our son had a fabulous time with all his new friends - catching crabs, feeding the parrots & having fun on the beach while Mum & Dad found plenty of time to relax. Love those hammocks.........

Room Tip: The island is so small each has advantages & disadvantages. I would pick windward during warmer...

Day one back at the desk and things just don't quite stack up compared with the week of bliss we've just had.

Our family (2A2C) have just spent a fantastic week enjoying everything Toberua Island has on offer: gorgeous weather - silky, warm breezes, not a jumper or raincoat in sight (well, maybe just the odd shower but never for long); the warmest, friendliest people on the planet - thanks so much for taking care of our girls and us - I drew a blank looking in my fridge last night - what to feed the family after the delectably fresh and tasty offerings from the TI kitchen!? The water, the snorkelling, the island picnic, the 5pm volleyball, the list goes on.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff, particularly Pita for entertaining our 4yo, Lini for saving me from my "bad hair" days and Ratu for making me laugh between the tears (yep, they flowed when it was time to go). Say no more!

See you all again next year!

Room Tip: Premium bures 2 & 3 fit a family of four comfortably.

We travelled to Toberua Island for a week late May 2013 and enjoyed a wonderful experience. We stayed in Bure number 2 ( Rua, in Fijian), absolute waterfront, facing west to view the most amazing Pacific sunsets - opulant would be one word to describe our accommodation including our own outdoor double swing, banana lounges, hammock ,huge verandah and direct access to bathroom for our sandy feet! Amazing meals every day - the gorgeous Staff will find you to choose from the menu. Fish feeding, snorkelling and paddle boarding around the island was fun.
The Staff along with Managers, Sandy and Max, make you feel part of their Toberua family, always happy and smiling. We shall return. Thankyou all for a memorable holiday. Vinaka

Room Tip: Our Bure was a little more expensive, but absolutely worth it.

It all has been said before: very friendly and helpful staff with great food, excellent boutique island to relax. High value for money. Of course drinks are a bit more expensive than normal but still within reason. What also made Toberua attractive to us was that compared to other resorts was its close proximity. One direct flight to Suva, 10 minutes by car, 30 by boat (all well arranged) and we were in a different world. Dive school is small but excellent.

Room Tip: We had bure 3, which we liked as it has the beach.

What an amazing place with amazing people. We spent 5 days to celebrate our 20 year Wedding Anniversary and it will be something we will remember forever. The accommodation was a true tropical experience and more than met our expectations but we think what completed our experience was the amazing staff and the Fijian people. We will be back and would recommend Toberua to anyone. Tina and Paul Sydney Australia

We arrived two days ago for our honeymoon after three long days of travelling. Toberua is everything we were hoping and more!
The staff are amazingly friendly - we were welcomed onto the island by a band and singers. Within a short time all of the staff knew us by name.
The food is amazing with choice of main course and dessert for every lunch and dinner. The staff come to find you wherever you are to ask you for your choice for the next meal.
The bures/huts are beautiful and very well equipped, very spacious and just metres from the sea.
There are so many activities everyday, from snorkelling and scuba diving to village trips, basket weaving and volleyball. Each lunch and dinner, the band plays beautifully - both western and pacific music.
This place is truly unforgettable and all we dreamed of.

Room Tip: We were in bure 6, though I'm sure they are all excellent. The wind comes in from this side of t...
