“You have to do it!”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

This was a relaxation holiday for us....the first in a very long time. Qamea was well worth the wait. There's nothing bad to say....from the food and activities to the staff. You can do as little as you want or as much as you like. The staff make you feel right at home, always greeting you by name.

We take our hats off to Andrew & Belinda and all the staff. Thank you all very much. The only bad thing about the whole trip was that you let us get on the boat to go home!!

Bula,
My husband and I visited the island in Nov 2012, I am just getting around to writing a review. The resort was absolutely fantastic. We stayed in a house with a private pool., deck, hot tub, outdoor shower, etc.We felt as if we had our own piece of paradise. We were a short distance to the main building where the bar/meals were served, yet we had a sense of seclusion and privacy.,We even had some of our meals on our patio while looking over the ocean. Pure relaxation, You could do as much as you wished or nothing. We chose a little of both! The snorkeling was amazing. You can even snorkel right off the beach by our house. Take the snorkeling trip or the waterfall excursion if you can. We also enjoyed meeting the people on a trip to a nearby village, We were celebrating a belated 10th anniversary, so the trip was special to us. The mgt/staff surprised us with a cake and song one night at dinner. That moment will be forever etched in our minds, If you want a dream vacation with service, amenities, privacy, beauty and the most wonderful people in the world, THIS IS IT!!!! Would not hesitate to go again. LOVED it. A big thanks to the staff and management at Qamea.. Definitely a dream vacation. .Oh, Yes! Make sure and get a hot stone massage at the spa too! Ahhhhh.!!!! A magical place that we will never forget.

Room Tip: spurge on one of the houses if you can. The feeling of "your own piece of paradise" is wor...

Our thanks to Bryce (resort owner) and all the wonderful staff and management at Qamea Resort and Spa for 5 wonderful days spent with some truly beautiful people in a little piece of heaven on Earth. Qamea has all of the natural beauty and features you could ever wish for in a tropical island resort but it is the genuine friendliness, fun and caring of the staff that makes it so special. We have never stayed anywhere before where we were made to feel so much a part of a big happy family. The staff are clearly happy in their jobs and are always joking and interacting with both the guests and each other which creates the perfect holiday vibe. The snorkelling in Qamea is second to none, both straight off the resort's beach and on all of the boat trips around the island. The food (included in the price) is terrific. Our 16 year old son came with us and also gave everything about the resort an "Excellent" rating and couldn't wait for me to go on Trip Advisor to praise it. This is the only time I have ever seen my wife close to tears when we have left a resort, she was that moved by the whole experience and just didn't want to leave. I think that says it all. If Qamea fits within your travel budget and you want an ideal tropical island holiday then don't think twice, book it now!

Room Tip: This was our first time at Qamea but all of the bures looked excellent. If you stay in their Royal B...

Bula lovely family

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a fabulous review. It means so much to us all here at Qamea to read such a warm response and goes a long way to ensure that we continue to do what we do best : deliver exceptional service and a first class experience to each and every guest.

It was a real delight to see you as a family participating in activities and enjoying yourselves so much – enjoying delights such as the Bouma Waterfall Tour to snorkeling the fabulous Cabbage Patch reef.

It was a privilege looking after you and hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you back to Qamea sometime in the near future.

We stayed at Qamea for 6 nights on our honeymoon in November, we really researched most resorts in Fiji before deciding on Qamea, mainly because we got a really good feel about the place and the Royal Beach house really appealed to us, having our own space etc.

We were blown away by our Royal Beach Bure, Qio, the furnishing and space was simply amazing, it was so lovely having our own private pool and jacuzzi, well worth the extra money, and was great having cocktails and canapés brought around every tea time.

We couldn't get over how lovely it was that every member of staff knew our names from the first day we arrived, it was lovely to be called by your name every time they saw you, we have never had that in any other resort we have travelled to, the staff were simply amazing, nothing was ever a problem, they went out of their way to help with anything they could.

The food was absolutely superb, the chefs are extremely talented and work really hard, every single meal was amazing, I am a great lover of seafood, I ate prawns, crab. Lobster, caviar, squid and much more while I was there, really enjoyed the salads and the freshness of all of the food, it really was out of this world. My husband is really fussy with food and there are a lot of things he doesn't like, the staff were extremely accommodating, they knew for instance the whole time we were there that he didn't like cheese and would go out of their way to make him something that was cheese free.

The whole atmosphere and feel of the resort is so relaxed, it is really beautiful and very well kept and clean.

When choosing our honeymoon resort I couldn't of wished for anything better than Qamea, it really is a special place, when we were filling in the questionnaire on leaving, they asked if there is anything they could change or improve, we couldn't think of one single thing, that says it all really.

Thanks Qamea for the honeymoon of our dreams!

Bula Vinaka Natasha & Darren, Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review of our resort. It means a lot to us to know that you November honeymoon with us was "faultless." We don't always get it right, but when we do (almost always), we are thrilled. We are particularly pleased that you enjoyed our newly upgraded Royal Beach House, Qio, with beachside swimming pool and jacuuzi hot tub. On behalf of our staff and management, we wish you a wonderful New Year in 2013 as newlyweds. Vinaka, Ron Eckstrom, Co-Owner

Can a place transform you?

Qamea Resort, can and will.

It's beauty, the location, and the entire QR team is dedicated to calmly providing a magical experience in a magical location. The white sand beaches, the lush jungle gardens, the candle lit pathways, and the tropical tradewinds surround you - and you melt...just melt and relax the layers of stress and worry and begin to learn to breathe naturally again.

There is something about the colors, the sounds, the warmth, the ability to enjoy beautiful simplicity and the friendliness of those on the island. The combination acquaints you with another way of living, and changes your perspective, since most of us live scheduled and planned lives.

We stayed four days, but could easily have stayed longer. If you have the opportunity to go, I would suggest you do....absolutely.

To get there from Nadi, fly to Taviuni - about an hour's flight, and you will be greeted at the airport and be transported to the shoreline where you will then hop on a boat and be escorted out to Qamea Resort, and are welcomed as you arrive.

If you go, the dress is as casual or dressy as you like - but you can easily do well with two swimsuits, a pair of sandals, a few changes of shorts/shirts, and bug repellant/sunscreen. The dive shop on site has snorkel equipment and dive equipment available for use. The resort has a nice lending library, and there is wi-fi available for purchase if needed.

The food is included in the resort rate, and it is fantastic - really lovely. You will not go away hungry, and you will long remember the beauty and deliciousness of each and every meal.

We are a mid-fifties couple, and others in the resort included mid-twenties honeymooners, recent college graduates, and a few others celebrating special anniversaries. The managers of the resort are fabulous, and have long standing experience in business and they know how to treat and pamper their guests.

So there you go. If there is anything more you would like to know, just let me know. I am happy to answer your questions, and maybe, just maybe you will someday go to Qamea and see if you agree with me.

Room Tip: If you can swing it, choose a Beachfront Bure. From the porch to the shore is less than 25 steps, a...

Words cannot even express our experience here. It was more than I ever expected. Pristine white sandy beaches, the unspoiled natural beauty, the warm and crystal clear turquise waters, the hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, diving, surfing, fresh caught and local organic food, AND the genuinely nicest people on the planet. The staff were the most friendly, welcoming people. There is a board of events that couples sign up for daily events. The housekeeping always knew when to clean your Bure so that when you came back from your daily activity the room was clean. The Spa was my absolute favorite, I had 4 massages within 5 days. Best spa experience ever. You are literally in the jungle, listening to pure nature and the ocean waves while receiving the best massage and care by the Fijian woman. I look forward to going back in the near future!

Room Tip: If you can afford the Royal bure, its a must have. It has its on pool, jacuzzi, two bathrooms (one o...

Other reviewers speak the truth. So fine. We came for the diving and that proved to be a very good idea indeed. Sam, Eric and David took my husband and I out each day at 9AM and 3 PM for some of the very best and easiest diving anywhere in the world. Just minutes from the resort a magical underwater world awaits. Healthy coral, both soft and hard, an aquarium of colorful fish at every site and a full service dive team made our eight days a joy. Pack you mask, dive card and swim suit and leave winter behind.

Room Tip: Go for one of the two villas with private plunge pools if you have the dough. All bures sexy with o...
