I went to Fiji for 2 weeks and stayed here for my last 5 nights... To be honest I wish I'd gone straight to maqai, I could have easily spent the entire time on this beautiful piece of paradise. The resort is amazing, the food is mouth watering and always plentiful, the staff are the friendliest people I have ever met. Right from arrival I was made to feel part of the family. The evening kava sessions were sooo much fun, even if you don't partake you can just sit back and enjoy the beautiful voices and the sound of the guitar (and of course the papaya song- request it!) we done heaps of activities such as snorkeling, spear fishing, surfing and village trips, or if you prefer you can relax on the postcard picture beach, play ping pong or participate in a spot of afternoon volleyball.
I absolutely LOVED my stay here and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get off the beaten track an enjoy island life the non-touristy way. It's a bit of a mission to get there but it is totally worth it.
If you go anywhere in Fiji make sure it's this place, you won't regret it!
Big thanks to all of the staff who made my stay in maqai one I won't forget. Love you guys x
