Treasure Island suited us absolutely. Retired couple - with energy! Loved the friendliness (but not too much in your face) and the island ambience. Good place for visiting other islands. Wd love to have arranged a wedding here, or brought kids - so well served!

We have just returned from Treasure Island in Fiji. We had a fantastic time! My wife and I went there on our honeymoon 5 years ago and have very fond memories. The snorkeling was spectacular, and the small island is the quintessential 'tropical island resort'.

Now we have a family and wanted to escape the cold winter so thought a return to treasure would be perfect. And it was! They have a great new horizon pool, and the kids club was excellent. As I would of expected with the way Fijians are, they are the most friendly, kind-natured people and superb with kids.

We did spend 3 nights on Denaru at the Sofitel, the 5 star resorts on Denaru are nice, but with no nice beach its a resort which could be anywhere.

If looking at going to Fiji choose the Islands over the mainland/ Coral Coast. And you will not be disappointed with Treasure Island. Great Bure rooms with own hammock, fantastic staff, live entertainment every night, good food and loved the Turtles and Putt Putt.

We've just come back from a week at Treasure Island having read a lot of mixed reviews before going. I can now understand why; the water is spectacular (but all of the islands are), the staff are wonderful (but that's Fiji), apparently the kids club is great (if you've got kids), and the meal plan is cheaper than buying off the menu, but it reminded me of my back packing days - the resort is pretty tired, the food is pretty basic and if it's wet there's not much to do, nor is the resort set up for rain; there aren't covered walkways and although there was an umbrella in our room it was broken. If you're after sitting on a beautiful beach with your kids entertained by staff and aren't too worried about food then it's a great spot, if the weathers not good, you have a baby and prefer accomodation to be newer than the 60's then it might pay to look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room

Our family just had 5 nights on Treasure Island and we had a wonderful time. It was our second trip to Fiji but our first time staying on an Island. It is such a relaxing place to be, with very friendly staff who make you feel welcome. Our two boys aged 11 and 7 had an amazing time in the kids club and the staff there went out of their way to make sure they enjoyed every moment, with different activities every day and night. We found that we could be as busy as we wanted, with lots of activies each day, many complimentary, or just sit on the beach and chill out. The bure was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. There was always plenty to eat, with enough variety to keep us happy. Having a children's dinner from 5.30 - 6.30 is a great idea as it allowed the kids to eat early when they were hungry, then go in the kids club for the activities and for us to have a meal together. There was always something happening in the restaurant in the evening, whether it be singing, games & contests or Fijian performances and the farewell song (Isa Lei) each evening for those leaving the next day is just beautiful. We really enjoyed our time on Treasure Island - it is a tropical paradise with lovely people working there and we are planning to return next year.

I read all the reviews about Treasure Island before booking and I read all the reviews about other islands around Treasure Island. I think you can get really bogged down and depressed reading about other people's terrible holidays. Treasure Island didn't get too many fantastic reviews, but from previous travel experience, a place is what you make of it. If you believe you're going to have a lousy time, chances a pretty good that you will. However, if you go with an open mind, try all the new experiences and blow off any little misdemeaners your holiday improves ten fold.

I went to Treasure Island with a special group of friends for my 40th birthday and we had an absolute blast! The island was beautiful, the people on the island were incredible. There was nothing that was too hard for them. They may take their time about things, but when you're in Fiji, everybody is on Fiji Time - so just go with it. All the activities we chose - snorkelling, diving, parasailing, jet skiing or just hanging by the pool with a cocktail - everything was fantastic and organised really well.

There have been reviews where people complained about the food. I think that if you're on a gorgeous island like that in Fiji, run by beautiful, friendly Fijians should you really expect Gordon Ramsey or Jamie Oliver in the kitchen? The food we experienced was great. There was a huge variety, the fruit was fresh and delicious and the egg station was a must each morning.

My recommendation is to give Treasure Island Resort a go. It might not be the newest place in Fiji and it might not hold any Michelin stars in its kitchen, but the place is truly paradise.

Room Tip: All the bures are located in walking distance to everything - you can do a lap around in the entire...

Me & my wife just loved our stay in the island.. To us Fiji means the warm & friendly staffs of the resort!! They r really nice and very very friendly! The island is very small & beautiful .. The bure was nice & clean.. The hammocks r just amazing!! Our favourite spots were the hammock beside the pool and the seaside shed near the reception along with the hammocks in front of our island bure! We really enjoyed the night shows by the staffs... Overall a wonderful experience.. I wud recommend to take the sea spray tour for island hopping & visit modoriki island (shooting spot of Castaway)!! This island was just mind blowing... Thanks to treasure island and all the staffs (namely Sala/ Tui & all others) to make our stay a memorable one :-)
& if we ever come back to Fiji (thousands miles away frm Bangladesh) we will surely stay here again :-)
Another point for booking: u can book thru zuji.com. I got a great value for money deal there!

We spent 5 nights On Treasure Island and had a nice time. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive.Special thanks to Luci, Philly, Sammy (bricklayer),Henry and Max!
Treasure Island is a tiny Island with a beautiful outlook and an amazing sunset. The turtle enclosure was a highlight for my 8 year old daughter and the iguanas were also interesting creatures.
The rooms are very neat and tidy with nice decor and comfortable beds. The housekeeping staff are also very kind and friendly and do a great job.
We found the buffets to be very average and we were all sick of eating at the buffet as it really didn't change too much (especially the kids dinner) but they do make a wonderful chicken and bacon roti wrap which is heaven.
I thought the kids club was very average as the staff were very lazy and didn't spend much time interacting with the kids. I also found that the kids were left for some time by themselves whilst they went and found bread etc to to feed the fish. This wasn't a problem for me as my children are 8, 9 and 11 but there is no way that my 3 year old nephew should have ever been left by himslef for even a minute with so much water around.
The new pool was nice but the other pools may as well not be there as they aren't really used except for scuba diving.
I was disappointed that there is no nice white sandy beach area clear of coral etc to swim in as the coral comes right up to the water line which doesn't really leave anywhere to splash around in. The snorkelling was great, the fishing trip was awesome and a cheap way to eat dinner if your lucky enough to catch a fish.
One side of the Island was very rocky and quite smelly but the lovely Fijiian's were out picking up all of the smelly seaweed in the boiling hot sun.
The chapel is amazing so if your planning a wedding it is a beautiful place to be married.
Make sure you check your bill as everyone I spoke to had extra charges added. I am sure this isn't intensional but amazing how many people this affects.
We didn't need insect repellent at all.
The welcome and Farewell songs are lovely and make you feel like you are special visitors.
We had a nice time at Treasure but been there and done that!

Room Tip: Not on the smelly side. Not the room next to staff quarters. All rooms seem to be nice inside. We ha...

Bula paul c,

Really great to get your feedback. It has been sometime since I have responded to TripAdvisor comments, but please be rest assured that your comments were filtered through the team here shortly after we receive them. Since you arrived we have re engineered our food offering and are working through several options to see if we can hit the correct mix of buffet/a la carte and casual dining. I hope to see a transformation of the kitchen team in the coming months.

Billing processes have got better and it’s been sometime since we have had an issue and continue to work towards better charging processes.

We hope to see you back next year so that you can see some of the changes that we have put in place.

Vinaka,

Scott
