The beach bures are much better choice than villas with swimming pool.
Arriving there with hellicopter is the fastest way.
Wine prices are ecellent and the wine sellection quite good.
Sports activites are excellent from diving to Hobby Cat sailing.

Having read all the extremely positive reviews on Trip Adviser our expectations on arrival at Tokoriki were high and we were both in need of some serious rest and relaxation!

The helicopter transfer from Nadi was a terrific way to arrive and on our first night we slept for 12 hours.

Tokoriki does not claim to be a 5 star resort however it's location and the friendly people who work there would not be out of place at a 5 star resort.

The resort itself is perhaps a touch dated, but the grounds are beautifully maintained, the sunsets amazing and the people exhibit a sense of pride in what they do each day - they remember your name and always greet you with a big smile. The Sunset Pool Villa in which we stayed was stylish, without being luxurious. The outdoor shower, the king sized bed and the view from the Bure or the plunge pool at any time of the day were superb.

The food in the restaurant was good without being spectacular. The servings were more than ample for us, particularly the pastas. The Teppanyaki restaurant with chef Jimmy is a must do (be prepared for his puzzles and ask about Sally!) as is the 'Deck' dining - be sure you book early for both as they are popular.

We left after a week, seriously laid back and relaxed with our expectations exceeded! This was our first trip to Fiji and the wonderful people at Tokoriki Resort have easily convinced us that it will not be our last.

Room Tip: The Sunset Pool Villas are worth the little bit extra!

Bula! We just came back from our honeymoon and WOW! This place is worth all the accolades and more! Their slogan "arrive as a visitor...leave as a friend" seemed hokey to us at first, but it is absolutely true. Take it from this professional cynic, nothing in the promotional material about this place is a sales-pitch. It's all true!
Firstly, we were coming from Toronto, Canada, and this trip was costing us approx $10k so we wanted to make sure we picked the right place. After much research, we narrowed it down to Tokoriki and another resort. the other resort is on the south side of Viti Levu, the main island. We discovered that it is pure rain season there in early December and Tokoriki, being on the NW side of Viti Levu, experiences some rainfall but not as much. We wanted a place that had a plunge pool and some privacy on the beach.

We got the sunset pool villa and honestly, there's no point in getting anything else. There's only 5 of these villas, but they are so spacious and offer so much privacy, they are worth the extra money. We would wake up every morning and swim in the pacific ocean, stroll on the beach but no matter what time of day we went, it was as if we had the entire ocean and beach to ourselves. Almost complete privacy.
We also figured out that you don't need to purchase the meal plans. Get the continental breakfast, fill yourself up and wait till dinner. If you wake up late enough, by the time bkfst is done, lunch is only a couple hours away, so no point to spend unnecessarily where you don't have to. Besides, spending the day swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing or sunbathing will easily eat up your day.

The staff are an incredible gift to the resort. They go out of their way to make you feel at home, refer to you by your names. The band plays at every table during dinner on request. Big shout-outs go to Dutchy, Joshua, Moses, Marema and Kris. But the biggest gift on the resort is Paolo. This man can sing a song from memory, and can play it on his guitar by just humming the first bar.

Definitely do kava..every night if you can. Its special bonding time with the locals. And they will more than gladly make accommodations for you

The only thing I would caution is as follows:
1) Get SPV 4 or 5. Although these are the furthest from the lobby area, they also encounter the least seaweed buildup (at least during our stay)
2) Swim in the main infinity pool in the morning, say by 7:30 am, to avoid other people and thereby getting the pool all to yourself. The seaweed won't get cleared until at least 10 am, so no point going into the ocean before then.
3) wear lots of sunscreen.
4) Indulge yourself in the spa. In North America, the spas try to recreate the outdoor tropical environment. Why not experience the real deal?!

Bula AmalC,
Vinaka for your review of your stay with us at Tokoriki Island Resort. We are delighted you thought your stay was 'worth every penny'. Great news! Vinaka for your raving reviews about our team. We agree with you about Paulo our human jukebox....we gave him a new Xmas song written by our guest called "Bula Bells"and he was entertaining the guests within a short time! Truly amazing musician. The bandboys CD is due for release within a week, keep posted on our Facebook page for more information.

The resort from time to time (tide dependent) did experience some seagrass on the beach as do most west facing beaches, however, we have recently acquired the only high tech equipment in Fiji (with no inconvenience to the guests) to remove unwanted seagrass from our lagoon should it come our way to prevent it coming ashore. Our lagoon right now is looking absolutely pristine as are our beaches and you can now snorkel at any time.

I do trust you enjoyed your spa indulgence - a tropical heaven. The unlimited Spa package offer is an incredible way to ensure you leave the resort totally relaxed and regenerated!.

Vinaka once again for taking the time to share your stay with the world. Vinaka!

This resort is truly paradise. My wife and I went here for our honeymoon in November 2012. Yes, it is expensive - especially the sunset pool villas (which we stayed in). The food was of a high standard most of the time, we got the meal plans which meant full breakfast, 2 course lunch and 3 course dinner which upon reflection was too much so unless you are big eaters I would recommend just selecting the food you want from the menu each day. One suggestiion would be that the resort includes the continental breakfast in the room rate. There is no other option for breakfast and the rooms are expensive so would have been a nice touch to include breakfast.

The spa was amazing, they have an unlimited spa menu for FJD$110 per day (minimum 3 days) and you can have unlimited massage, facials, mani/pedi each day. My wife thought this was amazing.

The central pool area is beautiful and there is free wifi in the pool area. This is an adults only resort so it was always peaceful at the main pool. Everyone seemed to reserve sun lounges during the morning and then leave their stuff there all day so they could come back when they pleased so it would be good to see Management fix this somehow but until then be prepared to get there early if you want a spot with shade.

We stayed in the sunset pool villa, which was amazing. It was metres from the beach, with its own proivate day bed and plunge pool, outdoor shower (we did not even use the indoor shower once), king size bed which looked directly onto the ocean and living room (which also looked directly onto the ocean). Next time we would probably stay in a beach bure as the main pool area is so nice we spent a lot of time there anyway and they are considerably cheaper.

Most people we met were on their honeymoon and it really is a romantic place to go but would not recommend to those expecting night life.

Staff were great, some remembered our names each day which was a nice touch. They also offer free snorkelling trips each day, water is quite deep which was unnerving for some and there was not an abundance of fish or coral but would be much betetr for scuba divers. we walked up the track to the top of the mountain (hill) on the island to watch the sunrise which was simply amazing.

If you are looking for a romantic, relaxing holiday I would book here without hesitation.

Vinaka for your lovely review of your honeymoon with us at Tokoriki. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay. The unlimited Spa offer is amazing, and Tokoriki is the only resort in Fiji offering this amazing experience. AU$55 approx per day for unlimited massage, facials, mani/pedis etc. It is so popular you really need to book in advance for the package to ensure you take advantage of the treatments on offer.

Complimentary snorkelling trips daily to different locations offer a variety of experiences and yes diving is very popular at Tokoriki, especially to see the giant clams (a wonderful giant clam regeneration project receiving a lot of media attention right now).

We do trust we will see you at Tokoriki again in the future! Vinaka from all the team.

We arrived by boat, which in my opinion, gave it the Island feel I was hoping for. This was our first time in Fiji, so I did lot's of research. Our trip was for 20 day's, but we only had 1 week at Tokoriki Island. (I could have stayed a month) We had a Spa Pool Villa which was even more perfect than we imagined. We ordered room service on a few occasions and were not dissappointed. The staff (especially Moses and Joshua) were wonderful! The happy hour music was so relaxing and the ocean views for all meals, not matter where we were seated, was breathtaking. I can't speak about the pool because our Bure was so perfect we never went to the pool! If I had to pick one thing I will miss until our return...it would be that awesome outdoor shower! I think everyone should have one! We went kayaking, snorkling at Turtle Rock and took long explorations on the beach. If you are looking to escape the rat race and get lost on a beautiful Island then I highly recommend you book a trip. It is a small Island with very little night life...so if peace and tranquility, beautiful Bure's, perfect sunset's and super nice people are what you want...Tokoriki is the place to be!!!

Room Tip: If available ask for Spa Villa 5. It's the best on the Island!

Vinaka you for your very positive happy review of your stay with us and thanks for the great images. You are right about the outdoor showers - everyone should have one! Good to hear you enjoyed your private plunge pool. Looks like you enjoyed the floating bed as well!. We look forward to welcoming you both home to Tokoriki once again in the future. Vinaka!

There is no a lot to say about Tokoriki Island Resort as everything was just so perfect, from arriving just in time to join the resort staff at church to the wonderful bures and food and the band at night. Friendly helpful staff everywhere in the resort. A day spay that was just so relaxing and enjoyable. I don't usually visit day spas on holiday but I went 3 times. Wherever you sat in the resort the view was fantastic and relaxing. Thank you to all the resort staff. This is a wonderful place to escape our busy world and slow down. We can't wait until we can come back again and again.

From the moment of arrival where you are treated as family to every day being full of special experiences, Tokariki Island Resorts staff are the most welcoming and attentive I've seen anywhere. The kava night with the band boys is a must as are the village visit and trip to the island where Castaway was filmed.
